Herman Cain drops Newt Gingrich, ready to back Mitt Romney
Politico ^ | /10/2012 | M J Lee

Herman Cain made clear Tuesday that he is ready to throw his support behind Mitt Romney, making no mention of his endorsement of Newt Gingrich.

“I have always said I will support whoever the nominee is and it looks like Mitt Romney’s going to be that nominee, and we do need to get behind him,” Cain said on Fox News. “I remind people all the time … ‘Keep your eye on the mission.’ And the mission is to get control of the Senate, maintain control of the House and defeat Barack Obama. That means get behind the nominee, so, yes, I’m ready to get behind the nominee

Maine-iac....they're only doing what they've always done and why we keep loosing....it appears critical thinking skills aren't foremost...rather they follow whoever is in the roll of the Piped Piper on any given day.

As for Cain dropping Newt....bet ya there was some money that passed hands there....maybe a position with Romney....I wasn't for Cain at all before and it won't make squat difference to me now.

Go Newt Go!!!!

caww, I like West because he is a straight shooter. He means what he says and that is a rare quality among today's politicians. Would have LOVED a Newt/West ticket.

HANG IN THERE NEWT!

Nothing in that article means Cain has “dumped” Gingrich. Cain says he will support the “nominee.” The GOP doesn’t have a nominee yet.

You ever had your self nearly kicked to sh!t in a fight? Minutes later you get the jump and it's “fight over”.
Changes your perspective on not only battle but what it takes to be a winner.

Newt is a political street fighter. Romney is the guy who rolls up his limo window and let's his bodyguards fight for him.

How many rinos do we have to endure before the republican party wakes up?

It depends on how much things we have to endure before conservatives wake up. Moderates will always be part of the Republican party. It should be considered given. But they only consist about 30-35% of the party. The rest are (or assumed to be) conservatives. However, more often than not conservatives back various candidates in the primary, each argues that their candidate is the only 'real' conservative. Meanwhile moderates come up with a single candidate. With split conservative votes, it shouldn't be surprising that the moderate candidate win. Yet, instead of learning a thing, they keep repeating the same mistake while whinny about evil moderates.

“Would have LOVED a Newt/West ticket.”

That’s been my hope from the get go.

Don’t give up on it - God loves this country. He can work miracles. But we must not falter.

NEWT/WEST

Those two are:
not lawyers
not Harvard trained robots
not Establishment
not owned
can’t be bought
KNOW & LOVE the Constitution
KNOW and will take on our REAL enemies
KNOW history
Will defend Israel
Will END the onrush of the Socialisrs
AND crush the Establishment.

And that is why they have the hounds from all sides of hell afraid of them and seeking to destroy them...

Well said! Newt has has pulled the Republican fat out of the fire before, and does deserve a voice in this RINO hunt.

Cain should have emphasized that he is still behind Newt...no mention of Newt's name.

Can’t believe some of you fools are falling for another BOGUS Politico headline meant to DEMORALIZE us ABR folks now that Newt has a chance to defeat Romney again.

The article clearly states he will support whoever the nominee is, not that he’s endorsing Romney now. This is the same thing Palin and every Republican has said.

It’s not news.

Even Newt said on Sunday, he would support the Nominee, who now looked it would be romney, but he was quick to add there is a long road to go. Every other candidate has said they will support the nominee...

All conservatives of note will support Romney over Obama. Some of you people will have no one left to admire.

What did you guys suspect? All these folks are going to take the “anyone but Obama” stance. I have a feeling Palin probably will too. Man heads sure will explode here if that happens.

I am not prepared to believe that yet, even if it turns out to be true. Tell me something, what is this pull and this power the GOP-e has over everybody... Mark Levin tonight announced it was time to forget about Newt, and focus on Obama and teach Romney how to reach out to the base... I couldn't believe my ears. I was in tears. A week ago he was talking about how healthy it was to take the debate all the way to the end of the primary season. I just thought Mark Levin was different from them all... for some reason.

I will admire those that stood up for what they believe rather than chose to vote for the lesser of two evils.

In the next month or so the list of prominent conservatives who do not support Romney will be empty. You are going to be very sad.

More lies, spin, and treachery from the dishonest media.

Here are links for the Hannity interviews with Herman Cain and Newt, clearly saying IF Romney is the nominee.

You have to click on the Jimmy Carter picture to see the Cain interview.

Newt says near the end of his interview, Romney is the frontrunner, not the nominee. It’s a really good one to watch, if you have a few minutes.

The incident with Herman Cain should have been our first clue that this election was being fixed. I liked Mr. Cain too. Maybe he wouldn't have been the best man for the job, but most of us never for the chance to decide that for ourselves.

The party spent a lot of time and resources getting rid of him. I don't think they could stand that Cain was different from the cookie-cutter politicians the party had selected. Certainly, Cain's 9-9-9 plan was upsetting. It may not have been the best plan, but at least Cain had a plan. The others were sitting around with their thumbs up their orifices. The establishment couldn't stand that, so that's why they brought out all those broads to discredit him.

I'm ashamed to be a Republican.
