I think I’ve figured it out.
Romney is a giant douche,
and 0bama is a giant-douche-turd sandwich.
In 08 he won Michigan by 10% over McCain. This year he tied and the delegate allocation rules were changed after the vote to give him the 2 extra delegates. He just barely squeaked out a win in Ohio, he lost in Minnesota, he lost in Iowa.
He’s not a strong candidate. He’s the weakest candidate the GOP has ever put up and he WILL lose to Obama.
This cannot be repteated enough:

BTW, Romney will lose if he is the candidate. Just like McCain did. Not enough people will be able to choke down the puke to be able to vote for Romney. If a real conservative is the candidate, s/he will win, if the Dems’ massive voting fraud is curbed a bit.

3. We do not know that we are the RINOs! Those people we call RINOs (like Mitt) are not RINOs - they are Republicans. It is us Conservatives that are Republicans in Name Only. Reason being that the GOP has shifted so far to the left that a 1960s Democrat would consider the present GOP far too liberal.

IMHO, I think the primaries should be in order from highest percentage of GOP votes to lowest percentage based on the last presidential election. The primary schedule should them be reset every 4 years. That would force the GOP elites and the North Eastern republicans out of the primaries and leave us with true conservatives at this stage.
Why in the hell are we letting IOWA, New Hampshire, Nevada, Minnesota, Maine, Washington, Michigan, Massachusetts, Hawaii and Vermont voting in the first half. I could even question Colorado, Florida, Michigan none of which voted GOP in 2008 being in the first half.
It seems to me some of the most reliable conservative states are at the middle and end of the Primary season. We also need to get the FEDGOV out of TX elections.
WTF is Guam, Puerto Rico, North. Mariana, . ... voting before real states.

Are you saying that Romney was the peoples choice wen he never broke 40% until the last race. The RNC chose Romney and he had a little help from FOX and all the taking heads. I never once saw anyone on FOX refer to Romney as anything other than Front Runner Romney, even though he was polling in the low thirty percentile.

Here is an interesting statistic. Ignoring of course all of the territories, since we don’t have “presidential results” from those territories since they don’t get to vote,
I went through the results based on the CNN delegate counts (I know there’s lots of delegate counts, but they had a nice chart easy to drop into a spreadsheet),
And then compared them to the percent vote McCain got in 2008, as somewhat good indicater of how “republican” a state was, realizing that Obama won the election pretty handily.
For states where McCain got more than 55% of the vote, Santorum leads Romney in delegates by a small amount (132 to 117)
Including states where McCain got more than 50% of the vote, Romney actually is leading in delegates, 176 to 146 for Santorum.
Including states where McCain got more than 45% of the vote, Romney is leading handily, 313 to 185.
Looking only at states where McCain lost, ROmney is doing better than in the states McCain won.
So yes, Romney is definitely doing better in blue states than red states, but he is also winning the red states.
I did note that you said “counties”, and this analysis doesn’t take into account which counties gave Romney his delegates.
I would disagree with your statement that Romney is insulting the red counties, except I think that would be considered defending Romney, and while there is still a sliver of hope for Newt Gingrich to win, I’m not going there.
It wouldn’t be so bad if we could expect Mittens to carpet-bomb Obama with the same kind of vicious negative ad campaign that he used against Newt in Florida. But, alas, we all know that will *never* happen.
