Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!

No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!

NO ROMNEY!!

Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!

Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.

In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!

We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!

I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!

FUMR!! FUGOP!!

Long live the rebellion!!

Hope my message is clear.

Point made, Jim, loud and clear.

As long as we have a viable conservative candidate left in the race — which now means Gingrich — we're on the same page. We may also be on the same page later, but in any case, it's your page and your rules.

I'm not a defeatist, especially when we haven't yet been defeated! God tells me that the gates of hell will not prevail against the cross of Christ. Guys, gates aren't offensive weapons; it's Satan, not us, who is supposed to be on the defensive. We're supposed to be on the attack.

Let's get back to work.

To CharlesWayneCT, Xzins, publius321, and Engraved-on-His-hands — let's try to work as hard as we can to make sure we have a Republican nominee who we can support in the general election. You may want to take a look at my argument at these two links making an evangelical Christian case for voting for Newt Gingrich and why Romney is biblically disqualified under Romans 13, since he is not upholding justice and the only terror he inspires in evildoers is that he might have more flip-flops:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2870368/posts?page=1196#1196
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2870368/posts?page=1204#1204

If Romney wins the Republican primary, I'll figure out what to do then. For now, I'm saying lets cross that bridge when we come to it, and do everything we can to prevent that day from happening.

And by the way, I have zero problem with having Jim Robinson say what he's saying loud and clear. Experience in church politics teaches me that many of the pastors of powerful and prominent conservative churches who are willing to walk out of a denomination don't walk out until a group of more radical conservatives not only take a public stand but actually act on their claimed convictions. The Presbyterian Church in America would not have been formed without a small group of rather radical small-church pastors taking a stand at virtually the same time that a meeting of “big steeple” conservatives decided to give up the fight — and then called to apologize and say, “We were wrong” when they learned of the actions of their more militant brothers. Similar things can be said about the split in the Christian Reformed Church, and the successful takeovers of the Southern Baptist Convention and Missouri Synod Lutherans by conservatives.

I think that's Jim Robinson's role today — saying things that will cause other people to quietly clap on the sidelines, knowing they may have to follow later.

No matter what happens in the next few months, Free Republic's stand makes very clear to the Republican Party's leadership that despite what happened with Dole in 1996 and McCain in 2008, they can't take conservatives for granted.

The good thing here is that unlike what I'm used to seeing in church politics where conservatives tend to be in small churches, Jim Robinson and Free Republic are **NOT** little dogs. This site is a big dog, and it's got a very big bite.

Those in Republican leadership who doubt the power of Free Republic need to spend some time remembering Dan Rather and also reviewing the role of Perot, Buchanan and Nader. Third parties don't win in American politics, but they do punish political parties when they lose their roots. One thing we can give Obama credit for doing is campaigning and governing as a consistent leftist — and Republicans ought to be looking to Obama’s example to see what happens when sound a consistent note with their trumpet.

The best way to keep a Free Republic/Tea Party rejection of Romney from throwing the 2012 election to Barack Obama is to reject Romney now. Let's get back to trying to make that happen.

(imho) mccain lost when he joined hands with zer0 and voted for the bailout. He (mccain) also was pushing for health-care. There were some differences between the two, but mccain lost sight of where Americans stood, enter the TEA Party. A chance, after mccain lost was a realization (perhaps) he (mccain) had erred. Therefore the votes your post notes. With mittens one can kiss the Supreme Court and our Constitution good-bye. With zer0 the same can be said, yet therein lays a chance. To save the Republic and the Constitution is the plan. As Ben Franklin said, We have a Republic, if you can keep it. I’ll vote to keep the Republic and the Constitution. This is simply me. The divergence of opinion is why our Republic stands to this day (imho). With mittens (imho) one is electing a zer0, for will probably be the same result as a zer0. Good cover for the gop-e to advance and destroy the TEA Party with a mittens.

Excuse you, but most Conservatives held their noses and DID vote for McCain in ‘08 - myself included. Most of them because of his choice of Palin for Veep.

And he got trounced.

Same as now, Obama WANTED to run against McCain - you can see that by the way the media feigned ‘worry’ if McCain was the GOP nominee against Obama. Same as it has done now in 2012.

I will say this again, when two Socialists are running for high office, the greater Socialist is going to win by the support of those whose religion is the Left.

There is less of a chance for Romney to beat Obama than there was for McCain in ‘08. Palin generated a lot of hope and excitement of Conservatives to vote FOR the ticket in 08, for Palin alone.

Romney generates NO enthusiasm among Conservatives to go out and vote FOR him. Voting for a candidate just to stop an opponent is a losing proposition.

Besides, as has been pointed out - our national woes are from the bottom up, not the top on down. Electing someone to the top spot is NOT going to stop our collapse into ruin, already-in-progress.

And many of us Conservatives have decided that we are finished being battered by an adulterous party that despises us and only uses us for one thing, only to betray and discard us while they fool around with the enemy to get a piece of the action.

You make a reasonable point about the SCOTUS options. But, on the other hand, what about if Obama is still there to push through another 'radical' through a RAT Senate, and I use this liberal's take to make my point. I don't disagree with your point, but the counter-point has as much validity and actually more likelihood of actually happening. In which case, I would prefer not to see THAT happen either.

"I have no idea of your point....death lasts a long time, I can put up with Romney (not my choice {Gingrich} ) and I will back him 100% because this country cannot survive another Obama administration. Pull your head out and realize that, although you cannot have your own way (little boy) Romney is FAR superior a candidate than is Obama"

It's really amazing. Jim is clear as a bell, and seconds later people are STILL posting like this.

How is Romney far superior? Take a look at the threads which contain pictures of aborted babies. Women in MA are still having that done to their infants for fifty bucks, thanks to Romney. Are you comfortable aligning yourself with that?

“You do realize that the conservatives of 1776 fought for the King and wanted to hang the Founding Fathers?”

If you believe that then you don’t know the meaning of ‘conservative’.

We are one supreme court justice away from losing the second amendment and people around these parts are talking about write in votes. Silliness. The establishment beat us, because they mustered more votes than us, period. The response is to become more determined and engaged in the process, it’s not to take our ball and go home. 5 years and 3-4 more Obama supreme court appointments from now, I wonder how many rebel alliance types will still be convinced that Romney is worse than Obama.

$6 trillion more in debt and a liberal supreme court. That’s four more years of Obama in a nutshell. That’s not scare tactics, that’s the one of the more conservative projections of our debt in 2016 combined with the likelihood of Kennedy and/or Scalia dying or retiring in the next five years.

$6 trillion more in debt and a marxist court. An acceptable sacrifice in the name of Puritanism. And like the Puritans we may need to start looking for another place to live.

My state of Pennsylvania sadly went for Obama in 2008 because so many conservatives stayed home, just like the media told them to do.

Now, so many here went against their conscience and really did vote for McCain in 2008? Really? So, I guess you’ll do the same this year, after stomping your feet for the next 6 months, convincing other conservatives that they can’t possibly vote for the rino while you will? How is THAT changing minds? If you’re going to end up voting for Romney anyhow, why the complaints now? Just vote and stop trying to convince others to NOT vote for him.

Rick Santorum is constantly trashed for endorsing Arlen over Pat Toomey. So, now we do have Senator Toomey and guess what? Conservatives are claiming that he’s just not conservative enough for them.

There’s a total circular firing squad here. So, who’s THE best conservative candidate? You’ll get a dozen or more answers. And why didn’t you support that candidate with money, time and words?

Romney nominated the most extreme left-wing of judges as Governor. Don’t be fooled into thinking just because he ran on a Republican ticket to be President that somehow he will change to nominating conservative judges.

I want the GOP to burn to the ground due to their treatment of Sarah Palin. We need a game plan... we’re rudderless.

The only way to win 'their game', is not to play their game. Especially not by their rules. There is one left in the race that we can support and work hard to try and make the nominee. Failing that - we have to come to the exact place our Founders did and recognize we can no longer work peaceably within the system the Ruling Class has co-opted, corrupted and set up to force feed us their agenda and candidates.

First, our 'rudder' has to be God, first and foremost. The reason it seems we have no direction or wisdom left in this nation is that our wisdom comes from God. This people are choosing to make government their god. The churches have to get the people to do 2 Chronicles 7:14, and rekindle the idea of repentance among God's people to re-influence our culture. Barring that - there is no workable game plan. Our Founders were humble and wise enough to recognize that.

We were a nation forged from the bottom on up, not the top on down. Getting someone elected to the top spot will not cure our ills, nor even slow down what is now a free fall into ruin. DeToqueville wrote about what made America great, it's secret. Without recapturing that - we're looking for a solution without addressing the root cause of how we got here in the first place and our fate will still be where we see it going now.

Then, we already have a model of rebellion to follow that works with God's blessing; disobedience to tyrants; make our own rules that correspond to what is right and discard those foisted on us by those who empower government to be our master. Submission to tyranny in the eyes of our forebears was the equivalent of breaking the First Commandment.

That would be my suggestion of how to get a game plan started.

Says you. When someone comes across as insulting they get it returned to them. I am sick an tired of being insulted and then being told to shut up and put some ice on it. This is exactly why the RNC rolls over conservatives: They have no spine to return fire. Conservatives want to be thought of as playing nice because that think that is the “high road” and more civilized, sophisticated and intellectual. Not any more. I am tired of playing nice and not getting what I need.

Where is the “honor” in voting for an extreme left-wing liberal like Romney? Just because he runs as a Republican??

We have voted against someone for so long that we’ve forgotten what it’s like to vote for someone.

Yep. My family and friends decided this time if Romney is forced on us by the PTB - we're out. We're hunkering down for the crash. Let the RINOs and democrat scrounges reap what they've sown. It's time for a great cleansing.
