Building on the Tea Party structure and membership makes sense, but it has an indelible stigma of being “racist”. Peoples ask me, “Aren’t they racists?” with no idea what charges lie behind that. Very effective job by media and Dems. Then, no one wants to be a part of a racist organization [e.g. Boy Scouts shrunk over the homophobia label], especially when Janet Napolitano is ready to put them on a watch or no fly list along with veterans, Christians etc. It is a mess. The libs had to pick another name “progressive” because we did a good job beating up on the L word.

I just got to say this and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I try to be a grownup in my thinking. I also try not to be an overly emotional, loud-mouthed, profane jerk like so many on the Left are; it really hurts to see this happen on OUR side....

Bottom line is I cannot pick the nominee. I can vote for someone I believe would be the best—or not the worst—of the candidates. In my state primary I voted for Gingrich, would have voted for Herman Cain, but he was out by the time we had the vote, and really WANTED to vote for Sarah Palin but she never ran. In the end, Rick Santorum won my state.

Now it appears that the millions like me who have voted have chosen not who I wanted or voted for but rather Mitt Romney. What am I to make of this? The bottom line is he is winning more votes than the others. Despite all the rhetoric here he is winning.

So, I have several choices here. I can vote for him in November, or Obama, or a third party candidate not yet on the ballot. Or I could not vote at all or not vote for in the presidential race.

I intend to vote for the anybody but Obama (the Republican ticket).

I will not let others dictate my vote. I don't mind if they argue with me about it, but all I ask is they keep it clean and avoid the ad hominem and attacks on otherwise decent FReepers. The fact that the most powerful person here can say “FU” to a de facto FRiend because they would do as I just stated is tragic.

But I do recognize this is not my house and it is apparent that we are all here on the owner's hospitality. If tht is enforced over this elections—either going with the owner or you're zotted—then my 14 years of community here might well come to an end. I will not leave. I can be thrown out so if you don'r see me posting the thread anymore you'll know what happened!

Seems to me the only ones to win such a fight is the Left and the democrats.

By the way, why is a pop-up ad asking if Romney is an American citizen appearing on this page?

It does not appear on any other place I am going, just here.

Just be prepared for an economic freeze by summer 2013, say 2015 if it’s Romney

I am... I am.

To avoid it in any case, it will require radical amputation surgery of government spending, a boom in the economy, radical reform of the draconian regulatory systems, huge shrinking of the fat gov't payrolls and stuffed bureaucracies, and a major personnel housecleaning in the District of Corruption.

I don't see any of these happening under a compromiser like Romney. He is unlikely to take on all the establishment head-on. He'll just try and keep The Same Old Game going.

As Romney often says so flatteringly about 0bama, "He's a nice guy, but he's just out of his league!"

Dittos, Romney...

No idea.

It could range from you being hacked, Free Republic being hacked, or a picture that is being posted here has embedded code in it, the most likely case.

Hey, Pat. I very much agree with you about A’rot and Valjar and the Hilary Rosen skank. I can't remember where I read A’Rot’s background, but he's a red diaper baby from day one totally on board the idealogy express.

Supposedly he is a loving family man, an extremely driven hard worker and very bright and organized. Plouffe works with him and has for a very long time and is also not stupid.

Too bad they care NOTHING for anyone else’s welfare or families or our country as originally founded including our history of incredible success WRT prosperity for anyone willing to work for it and our unprecedented personal freedom.

That they DO share with ValJar, but she is no where near as bright as they are though she is shrewd and deeply established in the filth of Chicago politics, opportunism and thuggery. That would include the others you named even the ones not from Chicago.

ROTFL about Carney saying he doesn't know which Hilary Rosen was a frequent visitor to the WH. I hadn't heard that, but it reminded me of John Huang back in the Clinton regime when they didn't know which John Huang anyone was referring to... Hysterical! Remember the SNL skit about which J. Huang was which. The first one was xxx (something bland) and the other one killed Vince Foster. Of course, JH was never even suspected of that, but it made me laugh till it hurt.

I also agree with your earlier post on the party. I'm working hard in my local party which has a lot of very good conservatives and sadly plenty of the other type. I'm in Arizona so I have a better shot at people like us taking over more of the party except that John McCain is still a huge force in the state. It's depressing, but we have a chance.

If we get Romney and he turns lefty (as I expect he will unless we LOAD the houses of Congress with TEA people), and if the Congress lets him do that, I'm third party at that time. I think it would finish us off to go third party right now, but we better start at the first sign of one partyism so we have a couple/few years to get established.

I'd be delighted if somehow Newt manages to prevail or if Romney is smart and honest enough to do what he promised. I have little hope for the latter except for the degree of betrayal, but I'd love to be surprised and will readily acknowledge it if that becomes the case.

I also agree with your statement about Bill Cosby. He got it and now he sounds like the mindless chorus of go-alongs.

He’s either losing it or he’s been worn down. Sad either way.

Geithner is about out of bones. All he had today was more class warfare wrapped up in this necessary spending and that minute cut with a vow to never ever take away the lefts ability to buy votes by actually cutting the budget. Once again it was all Bush’s fault even though the Congress was all left since 2006 when things started the really going down.I guess being a leftist means never having to say you are sorry.Even a mental midget could take these guys out. They have absolutely nada to run on.

Rush is playing the cycle very very carefully. He remains my spiritual leader and so far has done a stellar job, IMHO.
There is never a day he does not reinterpret what lies the left has thrown against the wall over the past few hours.

Your SPIRITUAL leader? Surely that isn’t what you mean, rodguy. Maybe your political hero.

I know I’m picky. My mother was an English teacher. LOL!

I know what it means when you’ve had a long day. I wonder if that is what caused the “Newt Romney” error mentioned up thread.

WOULDN’T that make Hillary Rosen a “STAY At-HOME MOM”...

Why yes, it would! But when a democrat does this, it is a noble sacrifice “for the children.”

When a Republican woman does the same, she is lying on the sofa eating bon-bons and counting her piles of jewels.
