Sarah Palin Hits Back At Roger Ailes’ Remark That She ‘Had No Chance To Be President’ (Updated)
Mediaite ^ | 4-13-12 | Meenal Vamburkar

Posted on 04/15/2012 3:05:31 PM PDT by STARWISE

Ahead of her Fox News special Paying at the Pump, Sarah Palin gave an interview to Breitbart.com. Discussing various aspects of energy policies, Palin’s final question was about the network’s boss Roger Ailes — and her response wasn’t exactly glowing.

The question was: “Governor, many people were disappointed that you decided not to run for president this year, but are still hoping that you might one day run for the White House in the future.

Roger Ailes was recently quoted as saying, ‘Sarah Palin had no chance to be President.’ What do you make of that?”

“Interesting,” Palin said, before continuing on to say:

I haven’t heard all of his remarks, but I wonder if he is aware that the same thing was said about me when I ran for city council, mayor, and eventually governor. No doubt many people who are told they can’t do something will work that much harder, and they succeed.

Maybe you guys should send him a copy of Steve Bannon’s The Undefeated. The theme of Steve’s film isn’t about me, but about the idea of not letting others dictate one’s path in life and never giving up when you’re fighting for something precious like our exceptional nation and our children’s futures. So, would you send a copy of The Undefeated to him?

You’ll recall that last year Ailes made some headlines following a New York magazine profile. The piece quoted a Republican source close to Ailes as saying:

“Roger is worried about the future of the country. He thinks the election of Obama is a disaster. He thinks Palin is an idiot. He thinks she’s stupid. He helped boost her up. People like Sarah Palin haven’t elevated the conservative movement.”

UPDATE: Mediaite reached out to Roger Ailes and he further clarified his remarks from last night’s UNC event in context::

He said, “When I hired most of the Republican contributors, none of them had any immediate prospects of becoming President —I wasn’t referring to any of their long-term prospects, including Governor Palin. I hired all of them because they made for good television at the time. Sarah Palin is young and nobody can predict the future.”

For reasons I've outlined in other posts there is simply nothing to even consider. Obama must go, NOW.

Hey dumb cluck - Mitt was chosen to clear the path for Obama! That why the media protected him for Barry to feast on him without breaking a sweat. HE IS THE WEAKEST of all candidates and does NOT have ANYTHING to debate Obama with - NOTHING! His record in MA is a disaster.

And besides that - his debating skills su*k - that's why he turns them down. In the beginning debates he spoke talking points - he didn't debate! In between he would studder. Missy had no plans of giving up her lifestyle for your POS candidate. Your ABO is GIVING YOU OBAMA!

"I have most of my Conservative family and friends vowing to NEVER vote for Mitt. We will do write-ins. I will be very, very happy to see Mitt utterly slaughtered. He is Liberal to his core. If he had one honest bone in his body, he would belong to the party that matches his soul -- the RAT Party. "

Never vote for Mitt, Write-ins, Mitt utterly slaughtered...by Obama.

You think Obama is LESS liberal than Romney? You think Obama is MORE honest than Romney.

I hate to say it but you need your head examined. Your friends and family that are doing this, they need their heads examined.

Your main goal is for Mitt to lose not for some write-in to win. JUST VOTE FOR OBAMA!

You are showing yourself to be more ignorant than the ones that do.

Ok wise guy. If you could read and comprehend you would know I supported Newt and Perry so Mitt is just as much NOT MY CANDIDATE AS HE IS YOURS.

Unfortunately Newt, Perry and who ever you were in favor of is almost certainly not going to be the nominee. The Nominee will be Romney.

So wise guy, what are you going to do? Cause it sounds like you are going to help Obama get reelected.

LOL. Where did I say that Mitt was more Liberal than Obama? Please, show me.

Mitt and Obama worship at the Alter of State Power. To them the source of all good is the State.

I will happily do a write-in and vote Conservative down ticket.

Every day I will be talking to Conservatives and hopefully will convince them not to ever again vote for RINOs. I will not betray my principles and vote for a cretin shoved down our throats by the arrogant, anti-Conservative, anti-Constitutional GOP-e.

he is unlikely to rule as a conservative.

LOL! A LIBERAL in ALL his ways he doesn't know how to rule as a conservative or what conservatism is. HE HATES IT! 'Unlikely' sounds like you think he could. Did you ever look at his record in MA? Do you know his answer to 'what did do for the conservative cause'? "I'm married to the same woman and I have 5 children"!

What part that he is a liberal don't you get? Because THE LIAR says he's a republican? Even think he deliberately became one only to infiltrate the GOP party? Tell me one thing he did that was the GOP platform? Same sex marriage? appointing liberal judges? big gov't healthcare which includes $50 abortion? increase MA taxes by 300%? Any of those Republican standards? He is a POS LIAR. Remember EVIL can't do anything good because it's evil!

But if he wins and follows the same domestic path that George Bush did

If Bush had mitt's record - he would NEVER have won in 2000. And again in 2004. Mitt couldn't shin Bush's shoes.

Mitt is the LOWEST OF THE LOW - filthy scum. I would NEVER taint myself by voting for him. I didn't even taint my mind by ever thinking of it. HIS LYING SPIRIT attaches to those who have/plan to - in other words - they support that lying spirit so it attaches itself to the one who supports it. Satan is the master of lies and mitt is his minion. He is EVIL in an empty suit. The same LYING spirit that is in mitt is in Obama.

so called conservative voices are not really so.

I agree but they are conservative by their theoretic with saying what they know tickles the ears of conservatives. Some one claiming conservation means nothing - it's their actions that tells the story.

When mitt is in the picture - People show what is inside them. What is in them comes out - if evil is, they support evil, if goodness, they turn from evil. They all exposed themselves and more than they realize. They will come back after and try their kiss @$$ routine to gain some favor back - there is no going back - they are already tainted with the lying spirit.

WRONG! They weren’t in it to win. They were following mitt’s script. And they had no credentials for the highest office in the land - another reason they were chosen by mitt as was MB.

You are right, I missed that. Republican source close to Ailes as saying

Mitt's his friend. That's why fox is in the tank for mitt. And they were cruel to Newt and Newt exposed them on just that! Newt said CNN has been fairer to him. And that didn't go over well. Truth hurts Fox and you think no one noticed!

I, for one, would not have voted for McCain except for Palin.

Likewise here. I think that without Sarah, McCain would have broken Mondale's 49 state loss record.

Ailes worked for RIchard NixOn and his “fair and balanced” slogan is a rehash of the line Nixon used against his enemies in the liberal media 40 years ago.

Nixon drew in conservatives with that line while he governed liberally creating the EPA to begin strangling our economy.

If it wasn’t for Palin, McCain would have lost by a greater margin.

...how do you figure that? Are you saying there were states that McCain won that he wouldn’t have without Palin? Which states are those?

...again, what states did Palin save for McCain...you saying Oklahoma or Utah would’ve gone for Obama, except for Palin being on the ticket? Taht’s nonsense...

Oh please, that is common knowledge. I have not met one person who voted for Sarah ever wanted McCain. That was 3.5 years ago - you act like it’s the first time you heard it.

Apparently, Ailes has conveniently forgotten how the media elite said the same thing about him and FNC as a start up cable news enterprise.

I wish you romney supporters would be honest about who you are and stop trying to convince conservatives that you are conservative. For the record.... If a brokered convention occurs, and it most likely will, Sarah quite possibly could end up being the Republican nominee with Newt as her running mate. Or vice versa. Obomba knows this and so too does romney. This is why there are so many of you out there shilling for romney by telling us Sarah can’t win. She scares the hell outta you doesn’t she? :)

"She had absolutely no chance because she didn’t take a shot.

Well I know I can never be as smart or as informed as the romney supporters on this forum but I have learned something in my 5+ decades of life and that is "it ain't over until the fat lady sings." I've also learned that nothing ever is as it seems to be. Except wolves in sheep's clothing and romney supporters of course. ;-)

Let me guess... Romney in 2012 right? That's what your hope is?
Listen... McSkidmark wouldn't have won a single state without Sarah and honestly... He was such a poor candidate for president that even a sure winner like Sarah Palin couldn't save his candidacy. That's what romney brings to the table as well. HE CANNOT WIN the general election.

But then that's what the obomba (aka romney) supporters are banking on isn't it?
