There Is Still Time (or Don't Let Newt Down)
Vanity | April 15, 2012 | True Believer Forever

Posted on 04/15/2012 8:39:45 PM PDT by true believer forever

While everyone is in the weeds counting delegates and wondering who Santorum will endorse (it will be Romney), few people are talking about the degree to which the GOP will be emboldened if Romney gets the nomination. It will be a sign to them they can get the evangelical, social and fiscal conservatives to fall in line, all they have to do is wait them out.

A few days ago, Mark Levin said he was disgusted with the Republican establishment, right after he said, 'we conservatives have to work together to pull out a victory for Mitt Romney’, just one of the presumed conservatives who have fallen in line with the GOP this past week. Establishment Republicans now know without a doubt that the base, its leaders and luminaries, can get to the point of total disgust with the GOP, and they will still fall in line.

Last cycle, Huckabee helped split the conservative vote, and make a path for the squishy one. This time it's Romney in the it’s my turn circle… Next year it will be Santorum. And Santorum will be sufficiently and properly neutered if he gets his turn next, count on it.

And where is last cycle’s Santorum, Mike Huckabee, who played the evangelicals big time in 2008, right now? Hosting a radio show competing with Rush.

We are at the breach, and there is still time, though barely. If people like Levin, DeMint, Sarah, etc., would jump in now – and they won’t – grab this moment, secure it and swing it back full bore at the GOP, the King Georgers would get a message loud and clear, they can't take the base for granted. And maybe the next time they think about trying their Karl Rove Gambit, they won't.

We can't look for help or expect anyone with power to give us a hand. We can either stand up and get in the battle, or hand the GOP another reward, a compliant conservative base, whom the GOP already despises and take for granted.

"The only thing holding us back right now is intimidation over the giants we face. They are not bigger than we are if we stand together." ~ butterdezillion

[ we need to destroy the GOP ]

I disagree it would be a good place for RINOS...
At least the out of the closet ones..

You know.. republicans that are for a democracy but not for a republic..
Which actually makes them democrats..

A republic is NOT a democracy.. unless its a banana republic.. which is in effect a democracy..
Very confusing to democrats and most all Rinos..

Constitutional Party is looking quite good..
Being a republican seems to be like gambling addiction..
Gamblers gamble until they loose.. both Shrubs, Bob Dole and Romney are losing hands..
Throwing dice that comes up snake eyes.. the House always wins..

To me, Newt is still extremely flawed. I don’t even trust him as a conservative. At all. He is pro illegals and pro global warming. He is not a good person and he doesn’t have good economic skills.

This is not about how to get a great man into the Whiite House. My vote in CA will be for Newt if he is still in, only as a protest vote against Romney. It is ridiculous to turn Newt into something he is not. He’s not even close to being as good a presidential candidate as Sarah Palin, and she has some pretty big flaws herself. Still, I would think she could be a great President. Newt couldn’t be, but he’d be better than Romney.

The main goal should be to have anyone but Obama in the White House. He is not American and he is communist. He is an ENEMY at our head. Far better to have a “normal” Democrat in there than a foreign stealth enemy there. And Mitt Romney is kind of a normal Democrat.

It's only "attacking capitalism" if it hurts the deepest pockets on Wall Street. If it hurts the smaller businesses, it's just smart regulation.

I think that sums it up for the GOP.

How's about this? You write in the quitter, Rick Santorum, and then we won't have to hear your opinions about Newt...

Deal?

Isn’t anyone here free to voice their opinions about newt? I don’t need to make a deal with you. Also, I wrongly thought you might be decent to me now that I will be voting for your guy.

Oh yes I am a conservative. And in voting for Obama the GOP will be destroyed, and then?

Maybe then you will have enough back bone to form a genuine conservative party, and back it, instead of attempting to prevent the revenge of Conservatives against the GOP. The GOP deserves it.

It’s apparently official...Cain is IN with Romney now. Cain said it is time to move along! I never did trust him or his 999 plan.

“Maybe then you will have enough back bone to form a genuine conservative party..”

Pure BS.

The GOP is not standing in the way of your forming a “conservative party” in your own image. The obstacle is simply that no one will follow you, and you know it.

The GOP R Us. Moving the Republican Party from center right to solidly Conservative happens from within the rank and file and filters upward (the slow but steady route), or the R & F stages a palace revolt and kicks out the “moderate elites” (the quick and dirty route), but I can see from your post that you are not up to the task. Most likely because you’ve never been a Republican in your whole life! A backbone?????? Apparently you never had one or have have lost it.

So I say to you...”Go ahead, leave the field to the real players, take your ball with you, and go home.” It’s unlikely that you’ll be missed. Quitters never are. I won’t.

You are the quitter. This Novemeber election is already lost.

No one is talking about the real issues, no one is defining Obama as the Nationalist socialist that he really is, no one is telling the truth about Obama , and he SO will win in Novemeber, just like he did in 2008 because no one would tell the public the truth about Obama..

As long as NO ONE is telling the truth about Obama , he will NOT be defeated, The GOP is incapable of defining Obama as he should be and defeating him. Romney is just Obama lite.

The GOP is not worthy of my vote, or of any consaervative’s
vote.

So I will vote Obama to hasten the showdown between this fascist Obama, and the rest of the country, and to destroy the GOP.

The GOP is dead.Gone. Useless.

Time to rebuild and hasten the cycle of misfortune that Obama represents. It will happen anyway.

“The GOP is not worthy of my vote, or of any consaervative’s

In your original post you urged us all to vote for Obama. So any Republican is not worthy of our vote, but Obama is?

Wow....just Wow.

You’re way too smart by half!

Turning Japanese?

Fulfill your seppuku wish on your own, as I said previously, none will follow!

Yes, Johnathan Swift, “ A Modest Proposal.”

Vote Obama. The election is lost to the GOP.

Unless we back Newt and have a brokered convention.

Or lets hasten the cycle of Nationalist Socialism, shall we.
LET THE NATION Find out quickly what the Obama Utopia means, it has been disguised by the media and GOP/RINOs who refuse to dEfine Obama properly and defeat him.

I live in Peter King’s district in NY and I just voted. The poles close in one hour and so far only 37 people showed up to vote. I find that incredible.
