Reporting from Washington— House Speaker John A. Boehner endorsed GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney in the latest nod from the Republican establishment for the party's presumed front-runner.

For months Boehner had steered clear of signaling a preference in the belabored GOP primary race, particularly because of his shared time -- and differences -- in the House with then-Speaker Newt Gingrich. He also has been selected to be convention chairman.

Now the cronyism can begin.

I could care less who this sissy endorses. I am against the RINO elitist establishment. I will not vote for RINO Romney.

Thank you Bonehead!

I am a little shocked by this endorsement. I had already thought this stooge was on the Milt bandwagon already. Boner outlasted Paul Ryan, Jim DeMint and Herman Cain in backing him. This has to be the most intestinal fortitude that this dope has shown in his whole life by endorsing so late.

Someone who holds an office such as Speaker of The House refains from endorsing until the very last minute. It is expected. It is like a second term President not endorsing. The prior one did endorse early, but that was all about queen bee cat fighting stuff. So when the Speaker endorses, the fat lady is singing.

Boner comes out of the closet when it’s safe. Sees his shadow and caves.

Wow, I’m just so blown away by this revelation!

Two peas in a pod.

Don’t worry Mitch, your chance to endorse RINO Romney is coming soon.

Now there's a surprise.

The House Republican leader who has given token resistance to leftist Obama will now give his full support to leftist Romney.

I'm shocked.

This country is screwed.

the fat lady is singing.

Um, the fat lady finished singing awhile ago. She's eaten the last of the snacks from the buffet table, smoked a cigarette, went home, and has been safely nestled in her comfy chair watching ancient re-runs of General Hospital.

Much as I like Newt, he is now reduced to renting out his donor list and harping about Fox News. That isn't a real campaign, it's just a guy out having some fun and trying to hold on to the limelight for as long as humanly possible - all while a few hearty campaign contributors throw in a few bucks more to help pay down his 4.5 million dollar debt.

You are correct, Boehner is endorsing now because the campaign is effectively over and he doesn't have to worry about stepping on anyone's toes.

Why can't we get someone who isn't a crybaby as Speaker? Since Newt we haven't had a decent Speaker. Sorry Denny Hastert was a pushover. Nancy Pelosi well, wicked witch of the west with a gavel and then pink shirt crybaby Boehner.

I want to see someone who is a Tea Party Member as Speaker they would have heads rolling!!!

I don’t think my Congressman, Alan Nunnelee MS-01 (RR), has endorsed Romney yet but I expect it. He’s Boehner’s buddy voted FOR the debt ceiling increase and the engine for the F-35 that the military neither needed or wanted but it would have been built in a GE plant next to Boehner’s district. Now Congressman has borrowed from Newt in the newsletter I got today he says we should cut spending down to the level of tax revenues and not raise tax levels to spending. This is how he talks, NOT how he votes.
