That's still in the offing. Until then ANYTHING can happen.

Suppose that Romney has a heart attack, or some women comes forth and claims they had an affair. AT that point everything would change and the fact that Newt is still on the stage would make ALL the difference in the world to CONSERVATIVES

As Yogi Berra once said, "it ain't over 'til it's over."

Heard a guy calling into Bill Bennett’s show today, a regular caller, who sounded real depressed, said he is not enthusiastic about Mitt, said he thinks Mitt’s taking conservatives for granted, and says he’ll probably pull the lever for him but doesn’t see himself stuffing envelopes or helping with the campaign. So the reluctance to accept Mitt as the nominee is not just limited to Freepers, despite what the Romney supplicants here want to tell you. If we don’t stop Romney we will lose the election due to an unenthusiastic base. Unless you think Romney’s going to be able to bus enough Mormons out of Utah to man a national campaign.

And really with Gingrich polling in the single digits, how do you think this could even be remotely possible? The only guy who could have possibly done so (Santorum with 11 states and over 3 mllion votes cast for him) has pulled out. That floor fight will not happen. The fight now is to get a real conservative as VP.

Our government was more fiscally conservative when Newt was Speaker than when Reagan was President. You tell me on what issues was Reagan more conservative than Newt.
