President Obama said he related to middle class Americans “looking for a chance,” as he highlighted his administration’s efforts to retrain unemployed workers for new jobs.
"I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Michelle wasn't, either," the president said to a crowd of 400 students at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio. “But somebody gave us a chance. Just like these folks up here are looking for a chance.”
The Obama campaign has pushed wealth and economic fairness arguments against Mitt Romney, who would be one of the wealthiest presidents in history -- and that quote was quickly seen as a veiled reference to his GOP opponent this fall.

I read on NRO that his Mother was earning 80,000 a year while working overseas doing “research” - I am not sure about what 80k buys in Malaysia, but I think it is silver spoon living for those folks.

I know... back in the mid nineties I started a company with a credit card and $15,000 loan. Today it employs over 15,000 people. I gave them more than a chance... gave them an opportunity to have a good future.

His grandma was a banker. He lived in Hawaii. He was going to private schools. He could afford coke when he was older. Never paid for school. His wife worked and made a load (for what?).
Some unnamed person or group gave him the silver spoon via his college education. He didn’t earn money of any kind either before school or while in school. How did he get to college. He didn’t get there on a scholarship, his grades were nothing to brag about, that’s why they are hidden. Who helped him and why is it a secret.
He gets away with saying this crap and is never called on it.
