I will vote for Mitt too. Don’t like it, but will give him a shot.

And who knows, he might put this ship of state back on an even keel. I’ve no reason whatsoever to wish him bad.

But, I say softly to the nasties on this thread today, it was the Blue Blood establishment who forced him down our unhappy throats and it will be the Blue Blood establishment that, odds are, he will support as President.

That’s a pretty good analogy.

My theory, just my speculation do not get yon panties in a wad, is that Romney will govern with an aim to keeping his Blue Blood establishment in power.

The Tea Party, those folks who carry this country on our backs, will rise, this time with a steadiness and stalwartness for we finally learn that the Blue Blood GOP does not want the likes of us and further, it will no longer be possible for us to live with them.

My argument is....vote for Romney. See how he does. He cannot possibly be worse than Obama.

And if Romney does what I think he’ll do, which is to reach across aisles along with his perfectly polished nails, to empower the establishment GOP and compromise on every thing that Hatch and McCain and that babe from Alaska keep their hold on power....The Tea Party will rise and a third party will be formed.

The Blue Blood Establishment GOP will flounder and eventually sink. We’ve got a political class in this country that must be dismantled. Those Blue Blood GOP are as much a part of it as any Democrat.

Hot Air has a Sunday Morning Talk show thread now. Over the years Conservative sites have sprung up geometrically.

FreeRepublic, for many weeks in a row early this year, had this thread constantly locking up and nothing will send your posters packing than working a thread that doesn’t work.

So don’t get all snippy that there’s something wrong with THIS thread. There’s plenty of Conservatives out there, don’t much like Romney, now posting on other sites.

I read the Hot Air thread every week. Hey Chuck, most of those posters feel the same way about Romney.

Whether we "like" Romney or not is almost irrelevant.Without a miracle he's the nominee.

The rinos won again.

I don't have time to get into what it takes to become a nominee-- the money, organization, dedications, compromises, etc etc.If we have not picked up on that yet we need to. Conservatives can and will become potus. We just have to get into the arena with everything it takes to get the nod.

For me its not much of a contest between Romney and zero. For others it seems to be a tougher choice.

The Establishment (FNC/FBC and the WSJ) is in the tank for Lugar. The WSJ show was so pro Lugar I became nauseous. It is such a waste of time watching “Establishment” shows. It probably is unhealthy as well. I think I will walk my dog. : )

Looking forward to The Great One tomorrow.

BTW, I used to love watching Fox's Sunday Show. But that was with Tony Snow. Chris is OK. I basically stopped watching when FOX pooh-poohed Palin in 2008 and said all kinds of nice things about Obama. Remember when O’Reilly said Obama would run the country down the middle because he was a smart man. The Establishment (except Hannity) refused to acknowledge Obama’s lifelong radical left wing relationships. I remember that idiot Krauthammer claiming that Palin had no experience and Obama walked on water. So, I have stopped watching on a regular basis and therefore cannot comment on this thread.

Oh and to that fat guy who runs FOX, here's a message from me, “You are effing up the FOX NEWS Channel brand badly. Case in point hiring that Jesse Jackson daughter instead of the illustrious Dr. Thomas Sowell. What did that Jesse Jackson offspring do to garner so much respect? Enough said. Bye-bye.”

I liked Perry a lot. The Jerks on this site destroyed him although Perry's performance in the debate could have been better but he was at least as good as Romney. Now the Establishment has their Romney. Good luck with that. If we get Obama we can blame them. If we get Romney we can blame them. That is the positive side in all this.

Could you ping me the nasties/newbie trolls when you have time and want to make the effort. Sometimes I am in the mood to type-lash them. ; )

Straight statistics on how many RINOs spamming FR for a white liberal faux conservative who also voted for a black socialist faux moderate in ‘08 would be illuminating.

Liberal apologetics 2.0 upgrades “Hope and Change” to “We Hope He’ll Change”.

Right. Karl already admitted in his book that he made a MISTAKE by counseling W to not fight back aboun charges he “lied us into war.” Mitt has to AT LEAST deny this crap; don’t just do the rope-a-dope (which did wonders for Ali’s brain)

I think we (the royal we) need to be smarter about the primaries. We (again the royal we) need to have a Conservative primary before the Establishment primaries to determine the one Conservative who would represent us during the Establishment primaries. Otherwise it will always be the E-One versus the many Conservatives.

I think what is realy getting to people is the audio book in Bambi’s own voice chirping lightly about eating dog. His faux broadcaster voice is almost ebulient. And this stikes most Americans as extremely foreign and savage.

I agree with your speculation. Romney certainly isn’t my choice for those reasons - but given the hand we’ve been dealt - I have two choices. I pick uncertainty over disaster.

1 - I was not aware Jim was forbidden in thread and am surprised you even care

Of course he isn't! He's more than welcome as it's his house. We'd love to have him post with us and talk about the Sunday shows. Or whatever he wanted. But please don't be dishonest, you know why you pinged him.

I humbly ask that you do not come onto this thread with the intent to cause trouble. It doesn't become you, as I honestly respect you and your posting history.

Can’t figure out why he’s continuing to run up debt in this fruitless quest unless he thinks something good (?) will ome out of it.

Dragging the entire debate over to the right...hopefully.

I've said it once this morning on another thread and I'll say it again:

If we cannot wrestle control from the RINOs within our own party, then how will we ever win a national election from a 3rd party?

The ONLY way to win is to persuade a majority of voting Americans that we're right and the democrats and RINOs are wrong. Other than that, Kabar is correct. We will, all Americans, lose.

Some say we can repeat what the Republicans did in 1854-1860 to the Whigs, but in reality the Whigs were on their way out because they were old fashioned philosophers of government rather than extreme party loyalists and demagogues that the democrats had made themselves under Jackson. We needed a similar party to counter them and most folks switched to the Republicans due to the war and firebrand Southern democrats preaching our way or the highway. After the war, with so many war veterans, and having their head of the party assassinated, the party had a lock on people's loyalty for a generation.

People should study the Whigs before they characterize them as 19th Century RINOs. They weren't! They held to the governing principles of Washington and the other founding fathers, and were simply couldn't respond well to democrat lies and demagoguery.

You’ve stumped for Romney and impugned those who will not with both regularity and personal diatribe that easily meets the definition of both spammer and troll, subheading, liberal.

Simply not true of Altura!!!

She had other candidates, supported them, and all of them either left or are not winning (Newt).

Perhaps you have another definition of "stumped", but I'm stumped as to why you'd say such an obviously lie.

Thanks, Miss Marple, for giving me that info. I do not despise Sarah for endorsing McCain, and understand now.

Well, Pat, let me be the first to say thank you, for all you’ve done for our cause. Unlike so many here on Free Republic, you haven’t been just bloviating, but have been in the belly of the beast, fighting the Delaware RINOs and working hard to get Castle out and Christine in.

I still wish you would stay and fight on. I do believe you were making good progress, even though perhaps down in the weeds, it didn’t appear so.

Who would have thought back then, in the state of Joe Biden for goodness sake, that Mike Castle would ever be knocked off his RINO throne?!

But you—and people like you—did it!

I can imagine having the RINOs/Blue Blood’s appointing Castle to represent the state GOP in the convention in Tampa made you finally give up.

Still, I certainly don’t think you are a quiter. You fought harder than most of us. Some of us beside me need to acknowledge that.

Well, looks like the thread has already petered out.

So be it.

I will speak on the discourse of today later, but it just might be I may simply stop posting this thread. We’ve had a good thirteen plus years run, but the whole site is changing.

I ask you all, is it worth it? We’ve tried to be a beacon of good will, to debate without getting riled up at each other, and to otherwise be adults, but now I’m not sure we can maintain that.

Speak to me....
