What did everybody think of Julia Louis-Dreyfus as V-POTUS?

Waking up this morning, I must say... I am no prude and I curse-- a lot. I don't do it in church or in the express lane at Walmart nor at the post office even when it is really called for with one postal clerk on duty and 20 patrons in line before me.

However, in HBO's "Veep" it is one frigging F-bomb after another except when spelled with that S-bomb word for manure. It got really tiring really fast.

I loved Julia Louis-Dreyfus in "Seinfeld" and the few episodes I watched of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" she was funny but not as much as in her Elaine Benes run.

So, I flipped over to HBO last night to see her in "Veep." Not one laugh, campers. Not one.

I went through the comments following Sepinwall's HITFIX blog and for the most part those commenting loved it.

So, it makes me ask, "What is wrong... with all these folks?"

If the viewers were playing a drinking game on the F & S-bombs in the first "Veep" episode... they were all dead drunk before five minutes had passed by!

I missed it. I was watching Celebrity Apprentice. lol. We do have HBO so I am sure that it will be played 100’s of times during the week.

I just watched the first three minutes and can unequivocally state that Veep is a rip-off of the BBC series The Thick of It and the related feature film In The Loop.

It’s even got that one actress from In The Loop in it! (Anna Chlumsky, I had to look her up on IMDB - and she seems to play the exact same part.) They also copied the wobbly camera and cut style to a “t”.

Anyway, since it’s a blatant rip-off of the above mentioned series, a lot of swearing was to be expected.
