Authorities say NYPD officers wounded a suspect outside a Harlem apartment after he fatally shot a 13-year-old girl and critically injured her mother.

Police say they responded to the Polo Grounds Houses at 2971 Eighth Ave. around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a call of a female shot.

They found the victims inside an apartment. The girl had been shot in the head. Her 44-year-old mother was shot multiple times.

The woman told police that the suspect was her 28-year-old son.

What a horrid thing, to have one’s son kill the daughter (much less also shoot one up). She will be feeling absolutely horrible now. God bless her.

I haven’t seen an RG10 for 50 years. The damned things are more likely to kill the user than the target.

That’s what happens when you have a 44 year old mother and a 28 year old son.

Polo Grounds Houses? There’s a housing project where the Polo Grounds used to be?

The Ebbets Field Apartments stand where Ebbets Field used to be in Brooklyn. It’s also a bad housing project, from what I have heard.

That is one ugly revolver. Looks more like a badly made toy than a weapon.

Rohm-Ghmbh? What the 1968 Gun Control Law was designed to keep out of the US.

I understand cops often carried one to “drop” if they shot someone who turned out to be unarmed.

It’s still a horrible thing. And still not very likely to happen even in the ‘hood.

I’m assuming, of course, based on the general area (I have no knowledge of NYC, really) and the age she had the son.

I’ve got a scar on my left hand from one that fired because the firing pin was too long. Unless you left a chamber empty a little bit of pressure on the hammer would fire the damned thing. It didn’t take much pressure either, since the tip of the pin was too sharp.

I know gun dealers that buy “Saturday Night Specials” like that just to get them off the market...when Chicago holds one of their (idiotic) gun buybacks they’ll send a couple of guys with boxes of them to the big city and convert ‘em to cash.

Based on the ages, Mom was knocked up at age 15 or so.

RGs were imported at least until 1985. They are still listed in that years gun digest.

The 1968 gun act was designed to control people not guns many guns were still imported with minor changes to there designs.
