A New Jersey father took drastic measures because he believed teachers were bullying his autistic son.
The men sent his son to school with a tape recorder, which captured a teacher talking in front of children about how drunk she got the night before.
Im doing the happy dance. Im so very happy, one of the teachers can be heard saying. You know why?...I had a bottle of wine with my girlfriend last night I forgot to eat dinner.
The father took the audio to his childs school district, where officials fired one of the teachers involved after hearing the tape.
He also made a YouTube video and Facebook page exposing the outrageous behavior. On the video, he says school districts should weed out teachers who shouldnt be in a classroom.
I really hope this starts a conversation, and I hope people out there who are, who do have the power, can take a breath and say, If this can happen here, then it can happen in every state in every town. And as long as we keep this quiet, it will continue to happen, he said.
The boy was transferred to another school, where he is reportedly doing much better.
You can see the father's whole YouTube video below

The proof of public education’s negative effect on children is impossible to deny now. People are beginning to reject them. Most still think they have no other options.
NEA’s finest.
I wouldn’t want to teach normal kids, let alone kids who just start screaming for no reason. I’m not defending these teachers, bur let’s face it, if this kid was so wonderful and loving and easy going, he would have been mainstreamed.

Was someone holding a gun to these witches’ heads to force them to work with developmentally disabled kids?
“if this kid was so wonderful and loving and easy going, he would have been mainstreamed”
Did you just totally miss the fact that this kid has autism??? Any teacher who behaves in this manner should not be teaching anyone. The horrible tone of her voice would make me cry too.
The Nurse Rachett of the classroom.
public child abuse
You are a compassionate soul.
This evil witch needs to be pushing a broom somewhere.
“Oh, but most public schools are good!! There are a few rotten apples everywhere” etcetcetcetc.
I’ve got an idea. Those who like public schools can pay taxes for the public schools.
Those of us who don’t want to send our kids to them or don’t have kids at all DON’T pay taxes for schools!!!!
Teacher will appeal firing, so will union, she will be paid while on leave and will be have to be rehired.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Who says autistic kids start screaming for no reason?
I’ve heard some cry out but not screaming.
And besides, the mainstreaming is not based on personality, but the child’s ability to do the work.
There’s no excuse for any teacher of any children of any ability to be sharing those kinds of details about his or her personal life.
Nor is there any excuse for treating the children poorly.
If she can’t handle the job in a professional manner, she should find something else to do for a living.
You don’t understand much about autism, I think. My wife has taught “Special Needs” kids for 34 years. Autism spectrum kids have been an increasing in the last years and now are about half I have an Asperger daughter. I am acquainted with families of autistic kids. Austic kids need close attention, and ridicule gets extremely negative results from many of them. Most do not understand lying or satire or irony. They are much more literal in their understanding. They also cling to whatever social connections they have been able to make. Tell one he cannot see his closest connection, in the referenced case his father, and he will believe that he has been told something that is true, that must happen. Sever one of his closest connections and he will be devastated. Some will be mad at the liar for doing this to him, some will enter despair.
Smart - a few more well-publicized incidents like this and even teachers may be able to learn to behave with integrity and decency.....
I remember my classmates and I thought it was a big deal to know the teacher’s first name!
