Looks like a man who has no conservative accomplishments whatsoever (actually, no REPUBLICAN accomplishments whatsoever) is going to get the GOP nomination. A man whose record virtually matches Obama's in every respect, right down to his very own government mandated socialist compulsory health insurance program.

What were they thinking? It's going to be an interesting election season, but then we live in interesting times.

To the RINO GOP:

I'm not going to campaign for this phony empty suit. Not going to cheerlead for a man with an abortionist, homosexualist, statist record. Cannot possibly vote for him. But y'all gotta do what y'all gotta do. I'm not going to stand in the way of dumping the Marxist.

How are my rationalizations growing ridicules? If you are talking about the advanced security clearances in the military my claim is exactly rational. If you had ever had one, undergone the background checks, and taken the repetitive mandatory classes you would know this. These points were not subtle, they were pounded into us.

What you are missing is an understanding of SW Pennsylvania politics. We're very union, blue collar and Catholic. My own county has about a 2-1 edge in Democrat registration.

Armstrong County, where Tom Smith is registered, is even worse. Still, McCain-Palin won both counties, ours by 59%.

If you want to compete for local government contracts, don't want your property tax assessment jacked up, or risk having your voter registration lost, the safe thing to do is register Democrat.

Last election, we swept every row office Democrat out of office for the first time since the Eisenhower administration. As a result, I just changed to GOP registration.

Armstrong County is not quite where our county has progressed just yet.

This delusion Burke spoke of has been the historically dominant theme of mankind throughout the ages: if there's a problem, government will fix it. Freedom has been the rare exception. Even now, although it is clear through history up to the present that socialism is an utter failure and disaster, nevertheless, societies, including American society, continue to gravitate toward it.

Why? Why would people in the freest country in the world throw away what others (immigrants and patriots) have lost their lives to have here? Well, I’ve come across a couple videos of Milton Friedman which I think shed light on this question and, IMO, well worth the time to listen. Links below.
