LYNCOURT, N.Y. (CNN/WSYR) - One New York pizza shop got a new and unexpected drive thru window.

A surveillance camera captured the driver of a car plowing into a Domino's storefront in Lyncourt.

Several people were inside the restaurant at the time of the crash, but no one was hurt.

Witnesses say two employees managed to jump out of the way of the car just in time.

Police say the 24-year-old woman behind the wheel of the vehicle reportedly mistook the gas pedal for the brake.

It's still not clear if authorities plan to issue the driver a ticket.

What is the matter with this woman? Is she out of her mind?

Going to Dominoes? Everyone knows they suck.

First, the business should have hung a 'No cars in store' sign. The lack of a sign is obviously the problem here. But more importantly, Dominoes is a RESTAURANT? Seriously?

Dominoes isn’t really pizza.

24, really. I was expecting 84. Never sit by the parking lot side of any fast food restaurant. Guy around me got killed drinking his coffee at Starbucks by a old codger coming thru the plate glass window in his Cadillac.

God gave us two feet; and engineers give us two (usually, any more) pedals for reason: right foot = gas; left foot = brake.

Or, as Bob Newhart put it in his Bus Drivers School routine: “Remember, just before she sits down: Accelerator...BRAKE! Accelerator...BRAKE! If you do it right, you can toss them all the way to the back, then clear up to the front again.

“God gave us two feet; and engineers give us two (usually, any more) pedals for reason: right foot = gas; left foot = brake.”

Bad idea. You will either end up riding the brakes; or you’ll leave your foot on the accelerator, while braking — or both.

There was just an article here yesterday that women were twice as likely to mistake the gas for the break and cause an accident, than guys.

This actually used to be taught to CHP back in the 60’s, when I was taking drivers ed; we had to read the article they published. It cuts reaction times, and therefore stopping distances.

You do NOT keep a foot touching, let alone riding, the brake; nor do you keep giving it throttle, but it is still measurably quicker to let off the gas while the other foot is hitting the brake, than it is to transfer the one foot between pedals.

Most of the time, though I had a stick, and was doing toe-heel down-shifts, while braking, prior to drifting a turn.

"twice as likely"

Also, over the age of 35 (according to a number of sources), women drivers were "signficantly" more likely to be involved in an accident than men. (putting on body armor preparing to dodge missiles from female Freepers)

I'm sure her life would've been shattered had she hurt someone.

“Most of the time, though I had a stick, and was doing toe-heel down-shifts, while braking, prior to drifting a turn.”

That describes my driving in decades past. I once wore out a set of tires in 8,000 miles. When I tried to collect on the warranty (for 40,000 miles or so), the dealer just laughed.
