Well, you know I used to tell people who said things like this not to send us money that they need for other things and that FR is doing fine. Well, after a couple of them told me they were hurt by my comments and really wanted to support our conservative causes and were proud to do so, I quit objecting. We greatly appreciate all contributions no matter how large or how small and are proud to have as many pro-life conservative freepers participating on FR whether they can donate or not. A tiny fraction of our readership supports the entire shooting match.

Well, you can’t blame the moderators. I instructed them to lay low, that I expected FR to be a bloody battleground for this primary season and that we would just have to let it play out. And play out it did. I did take out a few of the nastier ones, but we’re all supposed to be conservative adults here and for the most part we are. I think some of these yahoos should talk with their attorneys and CPAs before shooting their mouths off about stuff they obviously know nothing about. Same goes for operating a large site like FR (Traffic Rank in US: Number 1,162 out of millions of sites according to Alexa today) with over 200,000 unique users and a million page views per day and a server/disk farm capable of handling and storing millions of transactions per year from millions of users. I’ve been involved in the computer business since 1972 and in business for myself since 1988. I know just enough about this stuff to really get myself into some fine messes. Just too damn dumb and stubborn to realize that we can’t do what we’re attempting to do on FR and have been doing it since 1996—with no capital and no “professionals” involved.

You've answered your own questions.....It Is Jim's table...and it is his "Party" we as 'conservatives' are invited to..... That does not give others a right to bash the host or complain about his decisions as we know he is thoughtful enough to ask our "opinions". Nor should Freepers bash those he relys on to make FR work.
Though you've said you understand Jim's position I can't agree that you do, otherwise you would not be in the position you have found yourself of questioning the pupose of FR.
As to being "on the team"....if you mean the Gop...they're no longer my team...they took the ball and ran it for the opposing team, and continue to do so. It's really that simple.

"Consent Of The Governed"... was a concept applied to the nation as a whole, to the people in their plurality..... It is the nation that is the source of authority acting through the government, and it is the nation's 'Consent' that makes government legitimate.
How many times do we continue to "Consent" to the very thing we oppose? ...When is enough enough?...Just exactly when will this nations people stop the madness in an election system rigged years before we are permitted a vote which counts for nothing at all?
Half the nations states were purposely excluded, and thousands of voters in this Primary...again!... The same will occur in the General. I will not "Consent" any longer to this corruption .....our vote is our Consent... and that has 'value' for some more than others.

None of these people are small business owners. Let alone something this large. And everyone now a days thinks they are some sort of expert. Yeah tell that to me when you actually run a business!!!
I'm sure the ghoul who tried to get me banned is crying to every mod and person he knows but I said what needed to be said. I started a business, went through hell to get the LLC and I'm successful. I have to deal with thugs non stop. Usually, they are from various marketing firms. That's when I go into my high and mighty mode and tell them I have an MBA and you can probably finish the rest without me resorting to foul language.
Until someone starts a business they have no idea what the hell they are talking about and how much time, money and work goes into it. I'm in IL I bet CA is ten times worse. They don't hand out LLC's like Cracker Jack boxes, you have to go through hell to get one.
Hence why I've always been outspoken, a male FReeper who is only known as "the guy who posts for singing TV shows like Glee" is not going to scare me off Free Republic. I live in Crook County, IL. Cowards like him are nothing compared to the scum running this County... Everyone in this country knows Cook County, so running a business here is like dealing with Tony Soprano.
Not during a Primary....you mentioned FR being "family"...families fight when they are passionate over a matter and that includes politics...they cry and whine and belly ache...together and behind each others back. And sometimes there is no resolution...it's accepted as that. Fr IS a family....that's why this stuff happens.
Now I speak of this having married into a very large family all involved with various businesses in the company. Seven brothers and sisters along with their mates and kids...and the BIg man and his wife...It was like "Dallas"...in fact my father- in -law had a professional sign placed on the homestead..."NorthFork".
I've seen it all...and is basically what I see here on Fr. Especially if there are "intruders" from outside the FR family. In my family we might fight have fought like dog and cats but an 'outsider' would not want to tangle with any member without the full force of the family rallying.
So Quix...it really is a family here...
P.S. BTW...Jim and the moderators remind me of the "Big Man" and His wife.....when the family got out of hand with their bickering...they spoke and it was a done deal. And yes it wasn't always 'fair'..and some would pout, others crawl off and we wouldn't communicate for weeks on end. But sooner or later all came around once again.
