snip - this is an excerpt

"This is not a race, really," Bush said of the event, which aims to honor service members injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. "It's a celebration."

And the second leg of the three-day trek proved to be one tough, but hearty celebration.

I am not even sure how to describe my feelings about GWB and this event - I am humbled by his efforts and proud to have served...during the late 1960's when protests clouded the fight. This time hundreds of groups and a former President will not let our troops forget the honor of their service.

I have always thought of Barbara and George Bush as a very nice couple who could make us proud.

Of course as president, he did some things with which I seriously disagreed-—but obammy makes him look better by the hour.

This should be national news. But national news is owned & operated by anti-US interests.

I would prefer to kiss the boot of GWB & all those who served & continue to serve. Our military makes my heart sing with pride! Obama & his pretend military supporting wife can kiss mine. God bless America.

I am not even sure how to describe my feelings about GWB.

I believe he is a good person who was grossly misled by the Establishment Right, including his parents.

Which would also explain his alcoholism.

Look better ?

Obama isn't fit to be in the same room as GWB...

Barely fit to breath the same air...

Why can't we just state that GW is a good man, dedicated to our troops without the disclaimer "he did things I didn't agree with when he was President"? He isn't President anymore, he could be just making speeches and getting lots of attention and money like Clinton, but instead he chooses to actively participate in this event to honor those men and women who served so honorably and faithfully.

Sometimes I just don't get all the negativity that has wormed it's way into FR. Not you, by the way, but I just hear so much of it that I sometimes have to not look at the comments anymore.

GW was a great man...He was the right man for 9/11 and most FReepers seem to forget we could have John F'ing Kerry as POTUS when we were attacked...

I can hardly imagine what the world and the US would look like if Kerry was POTUS...

There are aspects of George II like this that place him among the best four or five presidents ever. However there are other aspects where I would kick his butt up around his ears.

And those are the aspects the MSM magnified to the nth degree to get conservatives like you to say that.

In reality, Dubya's faults are so miniscule compared the major strengths he displayed. He saved our country...don't know of any other person of the time who could have done as well. BTW he also had the econonomy roaring until the MSM figured out a way to stop it in its tracks. Yes, I fully blame the media and their Dem allies.
