The security guard certainly played a pivotal role in tackling the perp. I’m assuming maybe the women alerted him?
I’d say that the point is not that the women didn’t act heroically, and help save the children, but that the article fails to give the security guard due credit for what he did.
It sounds as if the boy owes his life to all three of them, each doing a necessary part.

My point is that the press wrote the headline that suggests that the women by themselves rescued the children.
The headline follows the formula of the age that seeks to diminish the roll of men in society. If that is not obvious to you, you have been living in a knothole for 50 years.
Nowhere in my post did I suggest that the women were not brave or instrumental in saving those children. My post dealt completely and wholly on the headline.
