Voting for Romney (D-Mass.): The Worst Mistake a Conservative Could Make
Country Thinker ^ | april 7, 2012 | Ted Lacksonen

Posted on 04/30/2012 9:14:40 AM PDT by Mozilla

Why am I so passionate today? Well, most readers who visit here know the country is in deep doo-doo. I’m here to tell you that voting for Mitt Romney (D-Mass.) will not change that fact and may make things worse. I will explain two things. First, Romney (D-Mass.) is the presumptive Republican nominee precisely because he will do nothing to improve our country’s fortunes. He is the chosen one because he will maintain the status quo. That is what the GOP machine has chosen him to do.

Second, you cannot “take over” the Republican machine and turn it into something in decent. I have made that statement before, but I’m going to describe the machine in greater detail. Keep in mind that this is information I have obtained from current and former GOP insiders. Everyone on the inside agrees that the Party has been constructed so it cannot be taken over. They have also constructed a political system so the political duopoly is very, very difficult to challenge. (Republican insiders HATE political freedom, like so many other freedoms.) Whether that’s a good thing or bad thing is a matter of judgment. For conservatives and libertarians it’s bad. For establishmentarians it’s wonderful.

Finally I will explain why voting for Romney (D-Mass.) is the worst thing you can do, regardless of whether you’re a “principals” voter or a “strategic” voter.

If you are not one hundred percent convinced that I am correct in those statements, you absolutely must read the rest of this piece and tell me where I’m wrong. I know I’m correct, and I can assure you that if you vote for Romney (D-Mass.) it will be the greatest political regret of your life.

This has got to be the stupidest attitude ever in FreeRepublic.

Nope one of the smartest, but Frerepublic has picked up some of the more stupid Romney People and a smattering of Newbies that think (R) by the name means something.

From your insult laden post I take it you actually believe the Republic will survive four more years of the little bastard commie. ... And of course if it doesn’t, well the detah of tens of millions is of no consequence in your calculus, eh?

You people will stoop to such lows won't ya? No wonder I can't tell the difference in a MittWitt and an Obama Drone.

Look toots, the lame attempt at fearmongering us to vote for Romney is a non-starter. We're driven by principles, not political expedience.

And even if Obama goes full-on Soviet or Khmer Rouge, the bloodshed is on the hands of the GOP-e and their MarxoFascist allies, who forced their candidate on us so he could lose to Obama and they can continue to spoon feed you the illusion that you had a choice.

We do not accept the votebeater excuse any longer, and the pathetic attempts to charge us with genocide if we don't vote for Romney....beyond the pale, but fully expected from allies of the Left.

Where do these clowns come from, who believe America can survive an Obama 2nd term?

I know it is a stretch, but just maybe you could encourage Boehner to get off his arse and defend the Constitution, I know it is a novel idea since they apparently are not required to read the document that they take an oath to defend.

Decisions ... Decisions ... Four more years of Obama with an antagonistic congress holding him at bay the best they can and impeachment looming over his head? Or 8 years of Romney with the democrats and rinos rubber stamping every one of his socialist leaning initiatives because he's on their team. Sounds like an easy call. It's like sacrificing the queen in a game of chess. You hate to lose your best piece (the Executive Office) to your opponent. But some times it is the only way to win the match. I'd rather have the opponent on the field in front of me (Obama), than have the opponent wearing my uniform at my back (Romney). Once you start dividing the front lines, you start losing battles. If Romney wins, the line between the republican party and democrat party disappears. We'll all be liberals. That is not acceptable. At this time, I think I'll vote for Goode.

It's going to take a lot more than voting for Romney to save the country. But putting him in for four years is certainly going to give us a fighting chance.

I bought that line last cycle. I have repented of my sin and hypocrisy to my Lord and my principles when I cast the vote in 2008. Never again. That line of reasoning is dead, false and just plain stupid in the face of facts, morals and history.

Anyone who believes that Mitt Romney can defeat Obama is in denial.

The dislike of Romney's personality and arrogance will keep Obama in power.

Remember high school? Romney is the guy from the prep school on the hill who would drive his Cadillac convertible by your public school at noon hour sneering at the commoners. ("I'll bet you $10,000.) He's STILL doing the same thing. He believes just what is going on in this thread, that he doesn't have to do anything except be the "Not Obama".

His nasty campaign tactics will be fruitless against Obama, because the Obama campaign will be relentless in every way including Mitt's mormonism.

Regardless of the pandering of SOME religious leaders, there are many Evangelicals who will refuse to pull the lever for him. The demonization by Mitt of the other Republican candidates will come back to bite him in the butt.

Obama will again rally the youth vote and the pro-abortion forces, the minorities, the PC crowd and the unions (look for Mitt to flip to pro-choice) and don't ignore the voter fraud.

Dorky Mitt Romney against the "cool black man"...no way in hell. There are too many voters who are waiting for their share of Obama's stash.

“Ruling Class”? That’s Marxist terminology.

Google is your friend. You will find a Conservative article on that very phrase and what and whom it identifies as 'ruling class'.

And in typical alinsky style, you spittled forth but did not answer the questions. I think you’re a leftist shill, sweetums.

You're projecting. However, coming from a MittWitt like yourself, I'll take your insult as a compliment.

And I answered the questions, in full.

You just didn't like the answers.

Its no longer about pride. It’s no longer about options. Let the Kenyan back in and this nation will cease to exist as we know it. If Romney wants a second term then he’ll have to play ball with the right. We can work to deny him a second one.

Amen!

>>I’m a conservative and I’m not walking, I’m running to the polls to vote for Romney...if he’s the nominee.

So instead of 4 more years of Obama, you’ll vote for 8 more years of Obama. Yeah, that seems wise. (/sarcasm)

That's why all of these threads are moot....Mitt ain't gonna win, anyway.

With all due respect, I think your line of reasoning is dead false. In 2008 we didn't have the foresight to know the extent to which obama would push the envelope and trample the Constitution. We now have his first term as Exhibit A. I strongly believe an exception should be made in the case of Hussein. I also think it was a mistake for conservatives (or republicans) to not have "groomed" a candidate after the '08 election. We made the same mistake in 2008 which is how we got stuck with McCain.

Where do these clowns come from, who believe America can survive an Obama 2nd term?

The other side to your coin : Where do these clowns come from, who believe America can survive as we know it after replacing Obama with Obama-lite and allowing the socialist initiatives to continue uncontested under the "republican" banner for eight years?
