Fox News Shep Smith and Ed Rollins pan Gingrich's Outstanding Exit Speech
May 2, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

What I saw on TV today was an Outstanding Exit Speech from Newt Gingrich. He itemized his past successes, goals and big ideas that he will continue to push. Ideas such as US Energy Independence, Personal Social Security Accounts, Brain Science Research, Debt Reduction, Conservative Judges, etc. So what do Shepherd Smith and Ed Rollins talk about after the speech. Shep said Newt was delusional. Rollins said Newt gave one of the worst exit speeches ever. They did not comment on the specifics of any of the exciting ideas that Newt wants to continue to push. I am convinced the reporting on Fox News is tainted by Roger Ailes dislike for Newt. Objective reporting is missing over there. Any agreement or rebuttals?

"Blah, blah, blah....can’t vote for Mitt....he’s a lib....he’s a mormon....blah, blah, blah.

Expect it from the FReepers."

"The Freepers?" Aren't you one?

" Me? ABO. I’m listening to Geert Wilders on GBTV right now. He is telling me ABO."

Me, I'm not influenced by what talking heads tell me to do. I think for myself.

ABO is right on. The future of our nation is at stake. Newt is now a non-issue.

This was a sinking candidacy from the very beginning. Newt should have known that his personal baggage aside, his luggage would have sunk a fleet of cruise liners. He nicely played the role as spoiler-in-chief for Santorum by siphoning off enough votes to allow Romney squeaker wins in MI (3%) and in OH (under 1%) over Santorum. At the end of the day this was Hindenberg waiting to explode. Quixotic and erratic, the campaign lost its way when it was dealt a broad-based clobbering in FL where Newt lost every major demographic, and then continued to have his negatives climb sky-high and his gender gap with women expanding to becomes oceans apart. The consummate Washington insider photographed on a park bench with Nancy Pelosi for his support of cap and trade, with a $1.6m Fannie Mae albatross around his neck was consigned to making off-the-wall promises of permanent moon-based colonies within eight years and $2.50 pie-in-the-sky gas/gallon within two years. With his “southern strategy” reduced to ashes, the continuing campaign punctuated by penguin bites and bounced checks in Utah descended into parody.

Brett Baier’s panel of Steve Hayes, Mara L. and Charles Krauthammer all continued the anti-Newt Snarkiness. Especially troubling is Krauthammer’s backpedaling in his recent praise and support for Newt as a potential Romney cabinet member. It is becoming very transparent that Fox News employees are manipulated either directly or indirectly by Roger Ailes dislike for Newt.

Shep is the most biased and mean spirited host on Fox and Ed Rollins is a slimy snake. Both have always been strong detractors to Newt.
I still am amazed at the hostility to Newt. He is the most brilliant policy thinker in politics. I get tired of this whole undisciplned and idea a minute labeling of Newt. We need ideas and challenges being well articulate to get any movement on restoring our country.
As to ideas that don't resonate or catch on, Thomas Edison had to try over one thousand times to get a working light bulb

Geert Wilders is far from a talking head. Look him up.
