...we’re constantly being told we have to vote ‘Anybody but Obama’....well we ARE Voting...’against’ them ‘both’.

Exactly.

People need to understand that one can choose 'none of the above' in this rigged game. I and others choose Liberty instead, which means that we choose to resist in whatever ways we can.

Nobody is disagreeing that America needs better than this November will offer.

The only debate is over methods. Anyone who puts a clothespin on his nose and goes and votes for Romney in November, and supposing it does get Romney over the hump, does no lasting good if they don’t do anything more. First, to seek a spiritual awakening locally. Second, to try to raise up better politicians for the future.

If you're on this forum, chances are pretty high you don't like the direction this country has been travelling for the last couple decades, at least.

The poster may have fought it. You may have fought it. And I fought it. But, the collective "we", have had little impact.

The borders are open, currency devalued, industry emaciated, standards of civil behavior lowered, 48% of citizens pay no income tax, the government employee unions and the congress are corrupt, religion has been marginalized, and we have a president who is a Marxist.

Exactly how would you describe the impact that people who share our principles have had on this country of late?

You can lay that ALL a the feet of the church in the USA. They willfully lost the culture, compromised with sin, created a whole new ‘Jesus’ to fit the need for the itching ears of the people to hear smooth and easy things, until the church is nothing more than saltless lukewarm water.

When we transformed into a II Timothy 3 generation, our goose was cooked. And until this people does II Chronicles 7:14, there is no saving us from the consequences we have sown and are now reaping.

This people wanted a king and to make government their god. The Almighty granted this people their demand.

He's no longer seeking to govern the most liberal state in the country, and is seeking to govern a country with a center-right majority. That fact, which puts him in opposition to Obama and needing conservative (or at least not liberal) support to survive in office, means that circumstances will be pushing him farther to the right.

Circumstances (i.e., the will of the people) will not have the slightest effect on Romney's direction, should he become president. He and his compatriot, Obama, do not answer to us, our wishes, or our Founding Covenants. They answer to other masters.

It's a hopeful, but naive thought, that a man like Romney possesses sufficient connection to his fellow Americans and our shared history and core values, to be swayed by our political will. He has demonstrated this throughout his political career, yet some people cling to the vain hope that they can somehow reach him.

If you're that type of 'clinger', prepare for the disappointment of a lifetime.

Then count me confused by your previous post, in which you essentially characterized Romney as a political opportunist:

The only core principles Mitt has, are those that concern Mitt....He would have sold out to the right, if the political conditions had been reversed.

But now, you're saying that political circumstances "will not have the slightest effect" on him, because he's committed to other beliefs. So is he just a political opportunist who will support the right as easily as the left if it advantagees him, or is he a committed lefty?

"The time to fight back is now"

And you are fighting back by voting for Virgil Goode, Mickey Mouse, Luke Skywalker? Heck just vote for Thomas Jefferson, he has just as good a chance.

The choice is going to be Obama or Romney and they are worlds apart. If you don't want to have a say in the matter then fine, but you should know Obama is a damn dangerous man and you will be helping him.

Yea, it may have come across as an insult to neil e. wright, which wasn't my intention.

We've had some success with conservative principles, but the drift is towards statism. We are in a place that would have been inconceivable to an American in the 1950's. Not accepting it, but being realistic about what our efforts have yielded presently.

All elections are ultimately voting for the lesser of two evils. We already know the evil in the WH. Four more years of his rule and we will be become what was the Soviet Union. He is totally out of control. If that is what you want to do go ahead but to my mind it is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Oh Brother. This is a conservative website? I’m sorry, my mistake. I thought I was somewhere else. See I saw all these people dumping on my opponent I just got confused.

LOL! That's alright Barry, you're not the only one who has been confused around this place lately! Oh, and Barry, try not to take my tag line too personal but you really do suck!

Even a flip-flopper can flop the right way every once and a while.

You know, I'm not sure that "flip-flopping" on positions is necessarily a bad trait for a politician. What's wrong with putting your finger to the wind and actually listening to your constituents? George W. Bush never did this, even when his constituents were screaming at him.

Supporting the flip flopper because he might flip to your side on an issue and then HOPE he stays there....

I could just as easily say ‘no votes for gun grabbers,’ that’s been my bottom line for over 30 years, but baby killers are worse so there is no need to bring anything else into it.

Why didn't Reagan stay within the Democrat party and try reforming it from within instead of jumping parties?

Because the Democrat party is the home for liberals and the GOP is the home for Conservatives. The great majority of conservatives who vote in primaries vote GOP.

We have a two party system. Which one conservatives should choose to make more conservative is obvious. Was to Reagan, should be to us.
