The GOP plan to float bonds is now dead. That leaves only Democratic Governor Mark Dayton's plan of legalizing more gambling in Minnesota to pay for this.

It is unclear the new stadium will be funded.

If not, will the Minnesota Vikings move to LA?

Fine. If the private sector can't or wont pay for a stadium. Then don't do it. Obviously, they know the economic conditions and environment better than the local mandarins.

I have told my representatives to vote no on this.

If they want I’ll help the bastards pack.

Los Angeles “VIKINGS”? That’s as silly as the Utah “JAZZ”.

An 11th-hour Republican Vikings stadium plan...

We are truly lost.

Politicians determining the future of a private enterprise in a free market society.

Why do we go on kidding ourselves about what type of government we tote in this country?

I know it's a state issue however it's a nationwide state issue.

You’ve gotta love the paradigm...you pay for my stadium, I make millions from using it, and you can pick up the dregs through taxing beer sales, etc.

If it’s a losing enterprise...you pay...I still make money.

If it’s a winning enterprise...you still pay, and I make even more money. And you get to brag that your felons are more talented than other folks’ felons.

Suckers!!

It would be a damn shame if the team owner was forced to pay for his own stadium. /s

It's also amusing that the scumbag poles are doing everything they can to avoid it going to a direct vote of the people as required by city law (on city funding over 10 million.)

That they are even entertaining spending public funds on boondoggles like this just illustrates how out of control government is.

Time for the NFL to be run like a business Completely.

What unique about the MN situation is that you have a brand new, and beautiful OUTDOOR stadium for baseball (Target Field)..and they want to build an enclosed stadium for football.

I cna't wait for the Twins to get back to the World series....we may yet see the whole thing cancelled because of a blizzard..

And if the Vikings move to LA, who will notice? The only thing that will happen is the CA taxpayers will be further screwed by the politicians.

There will be a lot of MN residents relieved they aren’t stuck with this dinosaur of a stadium. However, the MN politicians will keep spending to make it seem like the new stadium was bought. [Where’s it written that taxpayers MUST fund privately owned sports franchises and provide them with stadiums?]
