If Obama wins, what would he do in a second term?
Washington Post ^ | May 4, 2012 | Ezra Klein

Posted on 05/04/2012 8:09:31 PM PDT by Innovative

"In a second term," Mitt Romney darkly warned in a speech to the National Rifle Association last month, President Obama "would be unrestrained by the demands of reelection."

...His only specific prediction was that Obama would "remake" the Supreme Court.

....

At the end of 2012, we'll face what Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke calls "the fiscal cliff": The Bush tax cuts are set to expire, the $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts initiated when the deficit "supercommittee" failed to reach a deal are set to begin, we're expected to hit the debt ceiling again, and many other programs and tax credits will come up for renewal.

Around the Hill, they refer to this as "taxmageddon."

...

Beyond the deficit, Obama's advisers see two big unfinished pieces of business from the first term: climate change and immigration reform.

Romney is an extreme liberal pretending to be a moderate or, at times, a conservative. A pretender will never get my vote. I vote for honesty, if honesty is not there, I don’t vote (that old conviction thingy hounds me day and night).

“[shrug] I’m not voting for Romney. Not even considering it. Have a nice day.”

But I'm sure you express great horror at evils that Romney might inflict on the country...right?

Tell you what, you have your little tantrum and stay home on election night. Let the grownups take care of business.

And my answer is simple: compared to Barack Obama?

You know this is not a choice between Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan.

This is a choice between Mitt Romney and the most radical, leftist president in American history.”.  Newt Gingrich

Well, that is a very noble attitude, but you better consider that a second Obama term may very well be the end of America.

You remind me of the British in the Revolutionary War.
They stood on tradition/conviction and lost.
If you are going to fight rats, you must get down in the gutter....tradition and conviction be damned.
Get rid of the Marxist, then you can restore the dignity
and your convictions.

If Obama wins?

He already won.

He set up the next election against a clone of himself so he can't lose!

Don't vote for Robomney!

A whiter shade of fail. The difference is literally skin deep!

It’s ONLY 4 1/2 more year. I mean we can’t have Romney destroy the ONE’S plans, can we?

Very Little—he will have a Republican Congress to block him. Nothing will be done until events force them—such as a big war, natural disaster, more economics collapse or Civil Unrest.

Bush Taxes will expire. But the Supreme Court is not a for sure. Obama MIGHT get to change one liberal for another and won’t change a thing. So far, he has only replaced liberal with liberal. The Supreme Court is the last thing to change during a second term.

Sorry, my convictions stand ... God is still in charge and he will make the final decision. When I stand before him, I can say, with a clear conscience “I didn’t vote for either” because both were unworthy.

I disagree. If Obama wins, there will be four years of benign gridlock.

If Romney wins, our preteen daughters will be forced into polygamous marriages to “husbands” who are older by decades and we will all be forced to don magical underwear. Bibles will not be available for sale except as an exhibit attached to the Book of Mormon. And did I tell you about the compulsory missions yet?

Not convinced? Maybe you’re not facing reality.

It's no accident that the cornerstone of his policy regarding our military was the repeal of DADT. He's corn-holed the military - a second Obama Administration will finish the job of corn-holing the rest of us. The Constitution? A dead letter.

God has been gone from our schools for decades - now He is prohibited in any public discourse whatever. He has been usurped by the Lord of Misrule, the Prince of Darkness, 666, and Obama is his factotum.

It is in dark times our children will live. I pray for them daily. I can do no more.

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

That is pretty much the “spoiled brat” attitude.

No it is not a spoiled brat attitude. It is a mature adult decision. It is a decision not to sell out. Why should we allow the GOPe to win....when will it end? When they decide that Mayor Bloomberg deserves to run on the Republican ticket? You have to have principles at some point in your life.
