"A modest 6 cent per meal increase". If my math is correct this regulation will cost US taxpayers $316.4 billion per year.

These people are smoking crack. If the kids were allowed to be active and not behind an iPod, they could eat whatever the hell they wanted.

Pink-slime burgers and chopped-dog macnuggets (the Bamster's favorite snack).

BUT, don't you dare pack a (real) smoked turkey sandwich in your kid's bag lunch...the Food Nazis will haul your obese little butt off to the Re-Education Kamp...probably put you in a room and forget about you for 4-5 days.

Why are schools offering lunches at all? Isn’t it the parents’ responsibility to feed their children? Pack a lunch. Do away with the cafeteria entirely. And eliminate the nanny state oversight of what our children are eating.

Ah yes, the ol' "chicken feed" promotion.

How often is there a "chicken feed" DECREASE in spending?

Uh oh....schools better plan on buying bigger trash cans. Anyone who has ever visited a school cafeteria can tell you how this nanny-state edict will turn out.

Okay so chicken Salad full of growth hormones and antibiotics, mixed with egg and saturated fat mayonnaisse plus prepackaged genetically modified frankenfood fruit is healthier for kids than the fresh stuff that Mom makes from home?
Do I have that right?

I worked as a school nurse in a small public school which was run more like a private school. All the cafeteria food was homemade with fresh vegetables, pies & breads from scratch, etc. Things went downhill when the mandates started coming down from the feds. They decided the kids wouldn't eat all that home-cooking and were undernourished (according to guidelines)

Frozen pizza and processed foods were ordered and well-received by the kids but by the end of the year...many were longing for "Miss Mary's Apple Pie" or the "real" mashed potatoes. The administrator also said the processed food was much more expensive than local fresh produce and he was having fits trying to budget accordingly.

Feds need to stick their noses elsewhere.

This has been tried hundreds of times in hundreds of places and it does not work. Ever.

It just goes to show that liberals are mentally deficient, in that they lack common pattern recognition.

The end result is compulsive/obsessive behavior with irrational things. For example, compulsively washing one’s hands hundreds of times a day, but doing so with mud.
