Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., says that shes focused on remaining a senator, not becoming the vice presidential nominee, but added that shes more qualified to be president than President Obama was when he ran in 2008.
I have, some would say, better experience than Barack Obama had when he was a senator and ran, having been the chief law enforcement officer of my state, Ayotte said this morning on Meet the Press. I serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee. But again, what it comes down to for me, its serving New Hampshire.
The junior senator said that while its an honor to be mentioned as a potential vice presidential pick of Mitt Romney, her focus is on serving New Hampshire in the Senate.
Theres so many good candidates out there that Governor Romney has to choose from, Ayotte said. Senator Rubio, Senator Portman in Ohio. So hes got a lot of great choices.

Sadly, I know where she's coming from, but that's not much to say. Obama is the least qualified person in whatever room he enters.
She’d be better as Attorney General, given our past experience with the media feeding frenzy over a Republican woman as veep candidate.
Prez nominee - MA
VP nominee - NH
No. That makes the ticket too regional. Sorry, Senator, but you won’t be the pick.
My dog’s excrement has better experience than Obama in 2008.
Almost everyone he looks at would be a RINO. Not that it would matter a hill of beans.
Forgive me, but now is NOT the time to select a female VP.
Massachusetts and New Hampshire? Bad idea. The Veep nominee has to be from the South or Midwest.
Even the President's dinner can step over it.
I'm against putting first term office holders in the VP slot. All it does is to thin out the ranks of rising stars. Sure in 1952 Nixon was just in his second year of his first term as senator, but he had already achieved national notoriety in two terms as a congressman immediately before that. Palin was only in her second year as governor when McCain tapped her to be his running mate. Had she not been the VP nominee on a ticket that most likely was going to go down in flames, she would still be Governor of Alaska and would have made a name for herself based on achievements in that office. Due to the level of scrutiny the press refused to apply to Obama, she had to resign her office to be able to afford her legal fees fighting off bogus charges.
Also, it usually makes for a really poor electoral strategy to have two candidates from the same region much less neighboring states on the ticket.
Obama is going to say he has four years of experience as President. We need someone who has been in office at least 4 years to supersede him saying he is more qualified than our candidate. Romney has 4, Obama has 4. Joe Biden has a lot our VP candidate needs to have quite a bit of experience.
Any of us have more experience than when Obama was running for president. The guy not only lacked experience, but was missing common sense and a brain.
He’s got a brain. The brain of a saboteur.
Hello, Mr. Rove, are you watching and listening? How about the rest of you inside the DC Beltway RINO elites? Anyone there got a clue yet? How about Fox News, eh?
I live in TX, and I don’t think I have ever heard this woman’s name before——
Ditto! I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, and I’ve never heard of her either. This isn’t the year for nominating an unknown for the VP slot.
