Boy on a Bike Becomes Moscow’s Tiananmen Image
ABC News ^ | 5/8/12

As a bloody skirmish between police and opposition activists in central Moscow was drawing to a close on Sunday a small boy on a tiny bicycle pedaled through the crowd and approached a line of hulking riot police.

He sat there for a moment, balancing on his training wheels, staring at the menacing troops who were decked out in blue camouflage uniforms and full riot gear, nightsticks at the ready.

A group of protesters who had been heckling the cops began jeering, “Here’s the guy that will storm the Kremlin. Be ready boys! Here he comes!”

Interesting image but I have to question whether some little kid on a bike really just happened to appear out of nowhere and ride right through an angry crowd of protesters just in time to get his photo taken by someone apparently on his knees. Not knocking it, great theater if staged, really turning the tables on Putin and his “look how many and awesome I am” staged photos.

Not much of a picture really.

Comparing it to the picture of the young man in Tienanmen Square who stood in front of a tank is pretty absurd.
In the Tienanmen Square case you had someone who decided that he was going to die that day and confront a tank and the PLA. In the Moscow image you have a kid taking a look at a police line. I'm sure the kid is doing fine.
I'm not quite so sure what happened to the Tienanmen Square fellow...

Too bad he doesn’t have his “finger” extended - like that photo of the little kid at the soccer match!

If it wasn’t staged I want to know what kind of parents take their little child to a riot.

If it was staged I want to know what kind of parent lends their child to that kind of stunt.

If the press had any courage, they’d label this:

“The Soviet’s Tienanmen Square”......

Since that’s where Putin is headed anyway.

Obama and Putin are in a race to see who can be first to reconstitute the USSR label.

United States Socialist Republic

or

United Soviet Socialist Republic

But you gotta admit, there's an interesting contrast between adult thuggery and childhood innocence.

Well they could have put him in a balloon and had him fly over the thugs. ;-)

And your opinion is based on what?

I’m an independent contractor for a Jewish organization and we go into that part of the world on occasion. During the Russian election, the majority of Jewish voters cast their vote for Putin. These same Jewish voters have publicly stated that they are enjoying the most personal and business freedom that they’ve seen in the past 30 years in Russia.

I don’t care whether you explain yourself or not, but I’m seeing a bunch of George Soros crap on FR through his paid leftist organizations and surrogates.

Russia has been under attack by Soros the Nazi and his puppets, just as we are under attack by that prick Soros and his commie organizations here in the US.

Every one of the Russian protest “leaders” I’ve looked at can be traced back to Soros.

Kissing a boy on the belly is an old Eastern European-Slavic cultural sign of affection. I know about this because I grew up with it. My father did that, my uncles did and so did my grandfather.

Don’t read into this as some kind of perversion. It’s not.

Save you “Soros” speech.

My assessment is based up Putin’s actions and his history.

He will try to reassemble the Soviet Union.

I don’t believe the market freedoms are a gauge of Putin’s intentions.
All Mafia’s like profitable economies, from which to steal.

“My assessment is based up Putin’s actions and his history.”

Lay it out there, buddy.

I’m willing to examine every piece of info you present.

Let’s start with your claim that Putin is planning to kill everyone as in Tienamen Square.

BTW, we set up safehouses for our Chinese friends during Tienamen. What did you do?

“your claim that Putin is planning to kill everyone as in Tienamen Square”

Whatta clown!

I made no such claim.

The story made the association w Tiananmen.
My input was to upset Putin by making the Soviet association.

What are YOU, some kind of apologist for Putin and his KGB tactics?

Ok, so the opposition in Russia is led by commies. Putin’s gang are commies too. I think the Soviets figured out that it would be easy to lull America into complacency by allowing more than one party, and just making sure that you still control everyone running the parties. It’s not just this photo that is political theater, their whole system is political theater.

They used to do something similar on a smaller scale even before perestroika. Every decade or two, when they would get a bad famine, they would just feign as if they were becoming friendly, and adopting some reforms, until they got the foreign aid or concessions they wanted, and then, once the crisis was over, they were the same old enemies. North Korea learned that schtick from them.

I’m not too interested in retrieving the posts you made that you deny. For example:

If the press had any courage, they’d label this:

“The Soviet’s Tienanmen Square”......

Since that’s where Putin is headed anyway.

Let’s work on your last rant:

“What are YOU, some kind of apologist for Putin and his KGB tactics?”

Now, what does that have to do with anything?

I was talking about your rant against Putin.

Prove that Putin is engaged in KGB tactics and against whom.

All I’m seeing from you is left-wing character assissination.
