Until some lame ass liberal federal judge gets involved.
bigtoona just old me about this fabulous news!
GO North Carolina!
Good for them! Nice place to move to, too.
Sec. 6. Marriage. Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts.
It really does not ban civil unions or prevent private companies from providing whatever benefits they choose to provide to their employees. It certainly does not remove any legal protection from domestic abuse a person living with another person outside of marriage would have, all of which and more was claimed by those against Amendment 1.
Libs aren’t sweating this. A constitution means only what they say it means. If it says white and they say black, black it is.
Happy dance ping!
Wonderful... some good news for a change.
Guess they'll be moving to a sodomite state now .......mass migration to Massachusetts would be fine with me all under Romneycare! Containment can be a healthy thing for the rest of the population.
Good on N. Carolina. Just curious for a list of the 29 states who have banned same sex marriage now if someone can post. And is it on the upcoming ballot for any others? Would consider right up there with state income taxes and pro-gun law as a reason to choose a retirement state.
Money well spend.
I contributed heavily to this campaign, and I don’t even live in NC. But I knew the Soros/Gill money flowing into the state needed some measure of balancing out. (I understand that the pro-amendment side was outspent 2 to 1.)
So will the gays boycott North Carolina because of this ban on gay marriage?
Could be a problem because the Democratic National Convention is in Charlotte this year. Will the Democrats move their convention to appease gays? What to do, what to do?
Its not easy being politically correct and all, you know. Especially in a election year.
I love it.
Good on them North Carolinians! State number 30...way past a majority. A few more will indicate that a US Constitutional amendment would surely pass too.
We need to show the good Lord that the vast majority of Americans are opposed to any recognition of this perversion as trying to be claimed “normal,” or as legally a “marriage.”

Obama’s Disasterous Firsts as President

Back when the Defense of Marriage act was getting kicked around Congress the radical homosexuals were whining for state’s rights. Now that gays are losing their battle in states, they want Obama or Romney to champion their cause. People like their millennia celebrated tradition of marriage being a contract between members of the opposite sex. People don’t want homosexuals teaching homosexuality to their kids in school.
“And the Democrats think North Carolina will go for Obama later this year? Seriously?!”
CA voted overwhelmingly for Obama and Prop 8 passed on the same ballot in 2008.
This amendment not being on the ballot in Nov may actually help Obama.
The really sweet part is that it passed 61 percent to 39 percent. Hooray for the Tar Heel state!
Yippee, NC!
Excellent work.
(....if he loses he'll file for divorce and marry George Clooney).

I agree. Seeing this lopsided vote, NC goes back to red easy. Just 4 states and our long national nightmare is over.
2008 + IN, NC, FL, NV, VA, OH = 271EV
Great! Fantastic! The Lord expected nothing less. In fact, He demanded it! Outstanding NC. Great sign that Oscuma is in trouble there for the GE.
