"It's the first time anyone actually gave a dollar amount regarding the Rush Limbaugh Sandra Fluke incident. Monday evening Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey said the advertiser boycott cost his company "a couple million" dollars in ad revenue in the first quarter and "a couple million" in the second quarter.
He said things look like they will be back to normal in June. Cumulus carries Rush Limbaugh 38 markets and blames 1% of the 3.5% drop in revenue for the quarter on the Rush boycott. Dickey said Cumulus was "hit pretty hard by this."

How stupid can you be?
Maybe things are different in Iowa, but usually selling airtime that reaches a million people isn't a big problem.

But it’s WABC’s problem... Not Rush’s.
>>>How stupid can you be?
Not as stupid as you.
“That represents the 3.5% drop .... and they blame 1% of that drop due to rush. So 1% of 5 million equals a GRAND TOTAL of [gasp] $50,000.
Did I do my math right? Cause $50K seems to me to be a paultry outcome for a boycott.”
The way I read what they were trying to say (using your $5M):
Over the most recent 2 quarters, their revenues were down about $5M from the 2 quarters previous, from $143M to $138M (3.5% of $143M is about $5M).
Of that $5M loss, about $1.5M would arguably be attributed to the Rush boycott effect and the other $3.5M to other unspecified reasons.
In other words, the $1.5M loss is roughly 1% of the $143M revenue figure, and the $3.5M loss is roughly 2.5% of that revenue figure.
At least, that’s the way I understood what he was trying to say.
I'm surprised you've lasted at FR as you apparently have. For some reason I cannot recall having seen any of your posts previously. And if I see any further insulting posts from you to me, you might be gone. It's up to you if you want to try.

You asked a question. I answered. Get over it.
Thanks for the link.
Is this true?
Rush went into great detail on this issue: The reports of large numbers of advertisers “jumping ship” are mostly a result of LOCAL businesses bailing. E.g. if your local A.M. station carries Rush and one or two people call Kenny’s Klunkers Used Cars and complain, Kenny will ask the station not to run his adverts from noon to 15:00.
Then you have your companies that own a group of stations and at the top (!) EIB itself. ISTR Rush saying he lost a few big (carbonite) advertisers but there were a LOT more waiting in the wings.
Whatever else we know or think we know, we can rest assured the scumbags on the Left will do ANYthing they can to silence opposing speech.
HTH, HAND,

AND, if WABC can’t (or won’t) sell the spots, they will NOT pay Rush’s fee, hence either forcing him to drop his rate or cancelling all together.
I seem to remember when XM/Cerius Radio started, Rush basically said he wouldn’t join because it would end up costing him money.
