Sandwiched between two respected Texas historians on a hard church pew, the compact Englishman looks nervous, stroking his stubbled chin as he eyes 60 or so people crowded into the Buffalo Gap Chapel waiting for the sound of that voice they couldn't have escaped hearing over the last 40 years.

As a Texan, this story has fascinated me for years, Collins is fortunate to have discovered Texas.
Very cool! Thanks for posting.
God sakes alive. Davy Crockett's rifle and Jim Bowie's knives. Taken from the owners hands at the Alamo, yet.
$$$$$ to the max, if ever auctioned.
Cool. I like Phil Collins.
Texas forever
Hurt was usually a bicycle or skate thing...or just plain "running".
How many times did you hear mom's command "walk".
I don’t know about the authenticity of the Crockett items, but according to several books about the history of the Alamo, they all claim that Bowie’s knife has never been found.
I liked the Miami Vice episode with Phil Collins in it.
The only one I have any positive/fond memory of.
“You’ll poke your eye out!”
***Davy Crockett’s rifle and Jim Bowie’s knives.***
Crockett’s rifle is actually in the State House Museum in Little Rock Arkansas. I saw it in the late 1960s when I lived there.
Maybe he had more than one.
Phil Collins Rocks! Should be made an Honorary Texan.
Then he’ll take it back to England, who fought us at Alamo!
I’ve been a fan of Genesis forever...one of the reasons is because Phil, Mike and Tony are just about as down-to-Earth as you will ever see from a rock band.
me too. My fantasy is a new world tour with Peter Gabriel added if Phil could manage it?
I dunno, I saw videos of their last tour, and frankly I felt it’s best for them to call it a day.
However, I was hoping to see “The Musical Box” next time they roll into town, I missed out last year on seeing their recreation of “The Lamb” show.
I’m glad you posted this. It turns out that Phil is in my town tonight and tomorrow and is receiving an honorary doctorate from one of our local university’s tomorrow.
I applaud his work interest in the Alamo and I always enjoyed Genesis.
