Ron Paul ends his hunt for votes
Washington Times ^ | 5/14/2012 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 05/14/2012 12:11:34 PM PDT by Kevin C

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said Monday he will not compete in primaries in any of the states that have not yet voted — essentially confirming Mitt Romney will win the Republican presidential nomination. Mr. Paul said he will continue to work for delegates in states that have already voted and where the process of delegate-selection is playing out. He said that’s a way to make his voice heard at the nominating convention in Tampa, Fla., in August. “Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Mr. Paul said. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.” He did encourage his supporters to still turn out and vote. His decision not to compete for new votes in other states leaves Mr. Romney as the only candidate still actively fighting for voters’ support.

It’s true the disunity landed us Romney alright, but this is still a primary and there are, thankfully, other choices to be made on all state ballots.

There are reasons for that. It’s for times such as these.
When a self-proclaimed Progressive is found to be heading the Republican ticket, we are obligated to try and knock him off and vote for someone else.

The other choices are not Progressives nor socialists and they all despise the Republican Establishment, who are socialists and have gotten us into this fix, with their own divisive use of Alinsky tactics.

Goode, Paul, Santorum and Gingrich will continue to get some votes whether they expend on campaigning or not.

We are not voting for no stinkin’ Progressive in any event.
Dope or no dope, we’re not voting for no stinkin’ Progressive.

Smoke that.

How sad a situation is it where your "best" hope is that Willard gets elected and we get a holding action for four years?

It is a sad situation made sadder still by all of the FReepers working overtime to get Obama re-elected.

. . . they were all found to be wanting by your fellow FReepers. Each one failed to make the sale based on their own shortcomings.

The same thing could probably be said about Ronald Reagan if he came back to life and ran for president again.

We have to play with the hand we are dealt, not the hand we want.

If Romney got the support of the GOP because they believe in what Romney has done in the past as governor and not for his money and favors, then they have no business EVER claiming the title "Conservative Party"!

Either way their motives stink by pushing Romney for POTUS!

Right. And as of today that hand is Mitt Romney.

When a self-proclaimed Progressive is found to be heading the Republican ticket...

Yes, that is true. Romney claims himself as Progressive.

If the “choice of evils” is again the best the twin-party sham can do in 2012, genuine conservatives have no choice but to reject both the choice and the partisan process 'Being Stage Managed' to produce it.

I believe neither Romney nor Obama are good for this country and on equal par with one another.....I will vote, but not adhere my signature to a socialist agenda...I may have to ride that cat along with everybody else but I sure don't have to give it my consent!...and I will not...... My vote will be against them both.

The respectable man, so called,..... has immediately drifted from his position, and despairs of his country, when his country has more reasons to despair of him..... He forthwith adopts one of the candidates thus selected as the only available one, ....

.......thus proving that he is himself available for any purposes of the demagogue.......

You are about halway to sanity which is pretty good for FR these days.

Let me help you bring it home.

There is no reason to consider Romney an ideological leftist or to expect him to pursue leftist policies as President.

If there is a GOP Congress and a conservative grassroots movement demanding conservative solutions to our nation's problems then we can likely expect Romney to go along.

There is no evidence anywhere that suggests he will do otherwise.

Because you don’t know squat, I’m a liar?

LOL! You can look it up. Do your own homework, genius. (I’ve already seen it.)

Put yer dukes up, buster! I’d rather be CALLED a liar by you than actually BE your ignorant self, hangin’ out trying to put lipstick on your self-rightous cave in for Romneybama and missing his own pronouncements, while ignoring his record. LOL!

Read ‘em and weep.

Then Romney is a liar for he has stated, voted for, promoted, and advanced the progressive agenda as Governor.

Face it, Romney is for Romney and is for whatever HE thinks will get him elected.

Just like 0bama.

I’ve never read a post of a Freeper who said he/she was voting for Hussein.

I am a conservative and Romney isn’t (see tag line), so can’t vote for him. God will have to sort it out.

You are a liar because you willfully say things that you know to be false.

People who are neither cazy nor stupid recognize that FR is in the depths of a group psychosis/demonic possession these days.

Most sane FReepers have either abandoned the site or remain silent in the face of the evil lies being told.

I choose to battle for truth.
