Health care reform: GOP preps plan for ruling on law

House Republican leaders are quietly hatching a plan of attack as they await a historic Supreme Court ruling on President Barack Obama’s health care law.

If the law is upheld, Republicans will take to the floor to tear out its most controversial pieces, such as the individual mandate and requirements that employers provide insurance or face fines.

If the law is partially or fully overturned they’ll draw up bills to keep the popular, consumer-friendly portions in place — like allowing adult children to remain on parents’ health care plans until age 26, and forcing insurance companies to provide coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. Ripping these provisions from law is too politically risky, Republicans say.

“adult children”

Only the liberals and their republican handmaidens could come up with a term like this.

Don’t defang it...kill and bury it. It stinks. Defanging a stinky, dead thing is totally unnecessary.

My plea is don’t go to POLITICO. That site is so in the tank for Obama it’s nauseating. ct is a brave soul. Once in awhile I go there but may I suggest we organize a chat room where we plan our appearance on certain sites...POLITICO one day, some other rag the next. We could get a “take it to ‘em” ping list started and hit some of these sites en masse! POLITICO will make you sick, no kidding. Don’t give them the traffic.

We could affectionately call it a TI2E list. Jim would definitely have to be ok with it. “Take It 2 ‘Em”. I realize it sounds a bit like Larry the Cable Guy,,but hell, I’d rather he were POTUS than the scary creature in there right now.

While some of this may indeed be true, I do not believe a damn thing from those homosexuals at Politico.

I would sooner believe the scribblings on the walls of public restrooms.

Correct that to 'adult chillun' ~ anyway, leaving that item in is politically popular for a very small group ~ those families with recent high-school and/or college graduates who are UNEMPLOYED.

It includes MILLIONS of people who've been rendered supernumerary over the last 5 years.

Time for Romney to tell us how HIS jobs plan will eliminate this problem for those people.

It could be the very thing to toss the race to Obama if Romney and the Mittbots can't come up with something.

Where did this "scary" stuff come from? That's Democrat baloney dating back to that ol'broad in Colorado ~ something like "Schroedinger's Nutcase" ~ oh, I got it ~ wait a minute ~ it's Patricia Nell Scott Schroeder.

She was the Feminazi who ran that word into the ground ~ but worse, all the would be other Schroedinger's Nutcases had to use it to.

Scary this, scary that, scary in the morning, scary at night ~ scary Republicans, scary risky things, scary, scary, scary.

Don't use it ~ or you give away what you were doing in your misspent yout' as a Leftwingtard!

How dare you talk about my (thank God!) former Congresswoman like that!

Just because she, Cokie Roberts, and several other champions of a woman's right to murder her unborn child colluded with the media to--almost--succeed in "politcally lynching" Clarence Thomas through a totally bogus but nonetheless SCARY charge of sexual harrassment, why would you EVER claim she was one of them femi-nazi type wymin?

You should be acclaimed :)!

I’m looking forward to the day when auto insurance companies will offer coverage after the wreck or life insurance will offer pre-existing coverage for death.

As far as I’m concerned having government drive up the costs of health insurance without forcing people to buy it is the right direction in the sense that it will result in a smaller and smaller share of our population that has health insurance.

You see the problem with the healthcare market is that it is socialized thou private cost collectivization. People with health insurance have little incentive to either make healthier(thus cheaper in care) choices or seek cheaper care options.

Private Health insurance has the same effect as government health “insurance”. People don’t face the consequences of their choices health management wise they tend to make choices ill-respective of the consequences. Consequences which of course directly translate into financial costs among other things.

A true “insurance” system would be catastrophic reasonably unpreventable events only. If republican can do anything they should try to carve out a completely separate and unregulated “market” for that type of care. Call it something else say “widget insurance” anything to avoid the mandates already imposed upon “health insurance” plans and to keep it pure and simple catastrophic cases.

Then they should let “health insurance” die. Encourage the population to become out of pocket responsible consumers again when it comes to health services & practices.

What they should do is pass market friendly reforms allowing insurance companies to sell health care across state lines and allowing for portability of coverage from employer to wherever the former employee goes.

LET THE MARKET SOLVE THE PROBLEM!
