Trayvon Martin’s death was ‘ultimately avoidable’: Florida police report

Trayvon Martin's death was “avoidable.”

That’s the conclusion of a new police report on the unarmed teen’s killing at the hands of George Zimmerman in Sanford, Fla.

"The encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was ultimately avoidable by Zimmerman, if Zimmerman had remained in his vehicle and awaited the arrival of law enforcement, or conversely, if he had identified himself to Martin as a concerned citizen and initiated dialog in an effort to dispel each party's concern," the document by Sanford, Fla. Police said.

The reason some people carry guns is because Cops are too heavy. It is a piece of rescue equipment.

Sure it was avoidable, geee. Paging Captain Obvious.

Note to wanna be thugs (and their oh so loving and involved parents)....if you live in a State that allows citizens to carry guns and you think getting close enough to bash someone’s head to the ground is a good idea,,you deserve to get killed by the gun they may be carrying..dumb azzess!

Sent this to Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee at bill.lee@sanfordfl.gov:

“”The encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was ultimately avoidable by Zimmerman, if Zimmerman had remained in his vehicle and awaited the arrival of law enforcement, or conversely, if he had identified himself to Martin as a concerned citizen and initiated dialog in an effort to dispel each party’s concern,”

This is disgraceful. How can you possible think this will help your standing in the community and your relationship with other honest citizens? I really hope you were pressured into saying this by politicians, otherwise you need to be in another line of work. You should know as well as anyone Zimmerman had every right to leave his vehicle to try and determine Martin’s whereabouts. He broke no law by doing so and was following Neighborhood Watch policy. How about saying, “The encounter was avoidable if young Martin had decided not to act like a criminal thug by launching an unprovoked vicious attack on Mr. Zimmerman”? Martin didn’t give George Zimmerman a chance to say more than, “No, I don’t have a problem”. Police reports are not supposed to be political. This one reeks of political pandering. I hope you’re ashamed. I don’t live in Sanford but know people who do. I will have to think twice about visiting them in the future.

A tale from China.

An American tourist was visiting China, when an unaware Chinese bicyclist ran into him, knocking them both down, but not resulting in serious injury. Yet a Chinese policeman was there, and involved himself.

First, he wrote the Chinese bicyclist a ticket, but then he wrote the innocent American a ticket as well?

Why?, asked the American.

“Had you not come to China in the first place,” explained the cop, “this accident could not have happened. Thus you likewise bear responsibility for it.”

For eight months cops missed catching the criminals robbing Zimmerman's complex. For those eight months the people in that complex lived in fear Where were the cops then? Too busy to deal with the fears of honest citizens?

If cops had done their job, Zimmerman wouldn't have been out there by himself on that rainy night with his head being beat against concrete.

I'm sick of paying for cops to babysit communities of out-of-control young people from fatherless homes. I'm sick of cops ignoring the protection of those who foot the bills for their pay and pensions. I'm sick of cops blaming people trying to protect their own communities BECAUSE they aren't doing their job. We're paying security companies to monitor our homes, forming community watch groups and the cops are babysitting the black community - ON OUR DIME?

This has to stop.

> It's time to charge for 'cop service' the same way we change for water - by how much is used.

If the 'communities' that use all the cop service can't afford to pay, then fire the cops. Their not protecting honest citizens and the babysitting costs are too high.

I was shocked at how big Martin looked in the 7-11 videos. The “media” has been telling us for over a month that he was only 18 inches tall. He looked well over 6 feet in that video.

“He broke no law by doing so and was following Neighborhood Watch policy.”

You’ve written something that has triggered a thought. Has any intrepid reporter looked into exactly what this community’s Neighborhood Watch policy is? What the written guidelines of action are, if any?

Do the Sanford Police always issue periodic ‘new’ reports after a crime?

No, only when the facts come out that show the SRM was lying in the first place and doctoring 911 tapes.

This is merely the MSM combing through 200 pages of documents showing that Saint Trayvon was really a thug, and grasping onto one small unsupported phrase that supports their fantasy narrative.

Stupidity is not a crime.

As I noted on another thread:

Does a drunk beautiful woman, in a slutty dress, walking alone in a dark alley at 2:30 am lose the right to shoot her rapist?

“The encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was ultimately avoidable by Zimmerman, if Zimmerman" had run like a scared dog as white folks are supposed to do when they are confronted by a young prince of the urban jungle.

There. That is how the report would read without the PC sugar coating.

Pure conjecture on the part of the police. Since when are police “jurors”.

One must also question who in the police department wrote the report, and what is that person's relationship with the idiot prosecutor...

By the same token, whenever a mass pile-up occurs "due to prevalent conditions", it could have been avoided if only everyone had stayed home or driven within the conditions. Until they start prosecuting everyone involved in a mass pile-up, they need to let George go.

There is zero proof that Martin attacked Zimmerman. Plenty of evidence that Zimmerman followed Martin (his own words), that Martin ran away (zimmerman's words) and that Zimmerman was getting his ass kicked....but zero evidence that shows Martin attacked Zimmerman...ZERO.

Plenty of guys start shit then get their ass kicked.

If any of you have any direct link to a reliable source that proves or even states that Martin (who had run away) attacked Zimmerman (who got out of his car to follow) ---- then post it.

The photo used of the little thug at the article’s website is the old one the liberal media has been pushing from the beginning. All I had to do was look at the name of the article’s author, ALIYAH SHAHID to know why.

I think wtc911’s intent was to provide evidence that Martin was the first to assualt. If that is what is asked, then, no - there is no such evidence.

Z could have grabbed M’s arm (assault) prompting M to punch Z in “self-defense”.

Ultimately, though, that is irrelevant to the shooting.

The widely held belief is that cops are there to “Serve and Protect” is a myth.

They do neither.

They document crime scenes and investigate. These are necessary and worthy functions. But their role in preventing crime is limited to preventing criminals from repeating an offense. Police are nearly powerless to prevent a new crime from occuring. They simply cannot be everywhere at everytime for a $50K salary.

The notion of “pre-crime” police protection is a myth.

That is why “stand your ground”, “castle”, “concealed carry” and other self-protection laws are needed. The police report in the article is way out of line for the speculation provided.
