I have no problem with this.
It is official tax policy of the US feral government to kill the rich, metaphorically for now.
No matter how much money the feral government collects, it will always spend more.
The only way to defeat it is to deprive it of funds.
Anyway anybody finds to accomplish that is fine with me.

Buy a clue. When wealthy people (and businesses) start becoming tax refugees, it’s a signal that taxes are too high, not that we need barriers to exit. We turn a blind eye to mass illegal immigration of poor people and drive wealth, talent, industry and jobs abroad. The technical term for this is “suicide.”

America was founded on freedom. He or anyone else should be free to stay or go... Exactly. This isn't Cuba.

He’s a free person leaving a free country and has paid all the taxes he owes. I wouldn’t do it because I love my country that my ancestors fought and died for. On the other hand why is anyone surprised that this is going on? I’d like to see a day when a future President does like Jimmy Carter did for the draft dogers — issue a blanket pardon to anyone who fled our tax system and welcome them back.

This reminds me of the terrible days in England (the 60s) when all the film stars and tycoons were moving to California to escape taxes. Michael Caine, in particular, took a brutal beating in the media. I don’t think Ringo Starr has ever come back!
There is something very worrying about this development...
To: C19fan
Well done, Mr. Saverin. Here’s hoping thousands more like you do exactly the same thing.
Atlas, shrug on.

Amen Brother!!
The United States of 2012 ain't the United States I was born in and I do not see it getting better. If I had the resources and was not so old and crippled up, I would be out of here in a New York minute. I decided that two weeks ago when I was passed by an armored car painted “desert brown” with a local cop, dressed in full combat gear, sitting in the open back door dangling an M16. This little city only has about 35,000 people and there is only one reason for that; “To intimidate and dominate”. We have come a long way from ‘to serve and protect”.
Can you just imagine that happening in 1960?

Why is he a POS? Do you think he owes it to the US government to remain a citizen just so they can tax him to death, even though he has lived in Singapore for the last few years? If so, you really are on the wrong site - you would feel more comfortable over on DU...

In fact there is a 1868 law that specifically allows you to renounce your citizenship.

Exactly, even though hundreds of millions in taxes hardly counts as starving the beast. They just won’t be able to take more in the future but they sure get a big chunk now.

If you want to confiscate the wealth of your producers, you absolutely have to restrict their ability to leave.

Who is John GaltThe leaders are missing the point, we are going to experience a brain drain thanks to the government taxation policies. Higher taxes, limited opportunities and yet they are surprised when the productive people vote with their feet. This is not a new situation, has happened in many other countries.
