First of all, not a newb.. just a purge victim from the primaries.
JimRob posted almost a month ago about a so called truce between Romney supporters and the rest of the FReeper community. Since then, it appears the left has little job to do in driving a wedge into the right wing, we are doing it still ourselves.
Were is this truce? How come all I see on here is Alinsky tactics of divide and conquer? Today there was a post about Evil Mittie and him fundraising with morning after pill distributors. And the "true blue conservatives" pounce, little do they know that this pill manufacturer is one of the largest generic pill manufactuyrers in the world.. who produce all kind of medicine, even Augmentin, Azithromycin and Cipro, common anti-biotics..
This so called truce makes me sick. Can't wait to read the next half-baked anti-Romney article and the zealot FReepers who will eat up its every word because it furthers the narrative of Romney that THEY want him to fit into.
I'm not upset that people have beliefs that won't "allow" them to vote for Romney.. but what really irritates me is this active campaigning against people who would support Romney.. what game are you trying to pull? To deliver us into 4 more years of Obama servitude, for what purpose?? It strengthens conservatives? Talk about a phyyric victory. If you don't support Romney fine, but we are all anti-Obama here.. lets stay on focus.
You are right about one thing: Romney IS a shifter. In fact, he’s a part of a very large shift in what is supposed to be the major “conservative” party. You know, the constant leftward shift of Republican presidential candidates since Reagan? Seriously, look at it. The early “statists”, Bush I and Dole? Bush II, the man of illegal amnesty and the dude that rewrote education “reforms” with Ted Kennedy? Then McCain? Now Romney? Yes, there is some shifting.
Even worse, when many of these national level Republicans take office, they “shift” even farther left. With Romney already sitting RINO land, what’s he going to look like when he “shifts”?
But hey, it’s all about DEFEATING the democrats, right? After all, when Republican Dede Scozzafava lost to the Tea Partier, she backed her, right? Oh, that’s right, she endorsed the DEMOCRAT. Establishment Republicans hate conservatives MORE than they hate Democrats.
By continuously voting for non-conservative Republicans, the only thing that you are guaranteeing is the continuous trip left for what SHOULD be the conservative opposition party. Whereas Democrat rule is shooting Lady Liberty in the face, you are ensuring that she only suffers a stab wound. Sure, she might get a few more extra breaths in before she passes, but she’s still dead.
No thank you. If standing for the Constitution is the “high horse”, then I’ll ride it proudly. I’ll leave you with your preferred animal: the RINO.
Yes, I see and understand your points. But my conscience is not neutral on the subject. So, I definitely do plan to vote for a candidate for President and it is neither O or R. And there are conservative Republican candidates for lower offices I am supporting.
Who started the recurring idea that Romney non-supporters are going to sit out this election? The idea is like a black cloud that one day just appeared all throughout Free Republic.

My Girls absolutely love it all but since they are younger than yours, It might be for different reasons. But the good story, characters and references through out the show really do bring in an older audience.

Just please, don’t stay home. Go out and vote for the true conservatives in congress. You can write in Mickey Mouse or any other candidate for president. We’ve GOT to maintain our hold on the House and the finances, and we’ve got to get the Senate. That is almost more important than the presidency for now. Please don’t just stay home.

They seem to be. Ironic, right? They congratulate themselves on being more intellectual, more tolerant, "smarter" than the average Freeper. Meanwhile they threaten to reveal private information given to them in confidence, such as medications some Freepers are taking. They gossip about trying to find out Freepers' past problems with the law. They mock Freepers' medical problems. I don't see any evidence of intelligence on that site; the behavior outweighs anything my little girlfriends and I engaged in when we were in grade school. But even if they were "smart", intelligence without decency is meaningless.
They kid themselves that their site is about more than Free Republic. Meanwhile they press their noses up against the glass here and marinate in their own malice and bitterness.
