If someone is renouncing their citizenship and leaving the US because of taxes, opposition to war or for whatever reason all I can say is don't let the door hit you in the ass. Cant feel much sympathy if the get clipped by a 30% tax on the way out.

Yeah. Same for those that leave California for a lower tax state like Texas. Charge them a 30% tax. That'll show em.

The operative terms here are “renouncing their citizenship.” Americans move to other states or elect folks to get the tax rate they want.
