Part of the unwritten “final deal” (that we don’t know yet) is that all of our vehicles and equipment are going to stay, to be used or looted at leisure. We’ll be pulling them off rooftops by helo in the end, shades of 1975.

Either way it's a very bad joke. Trying to graft western ideas of "freedom" onto a primitive ancient stock which bears no such fruit. Risible and fatuous. And that goes for Bush too who conceived of this fool's errand.

You’d have an easier time converting Adolf Hitler to Judaism.

The money and effort would be better spent trying to train the coyotes to co-exist with the rabbits.

Trying To Convert Taliban To Ways Of Freedom

But one could ask why Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, whose wife Benazir Bhutto was assassinated by al-Qaida-affiliated jihadists four-and-a-half years ago, would want to help the U.S. hand neighboring Afghanistan back into the hands of the fanatical Taliban.

An interesting bit of trivia is that President Asif Ali Zardari's wife, Benazir Bhutto, played host when she was in office to the pinko British PLO-linked, Saddam Hussein Iraq-oil voucher bribe recipient and UK politician known as "Gorgeous" George Galloway. Benazir Bhutto apparently had Galloway on her pay/bribe list when Galloway ran a newspaper called the "Asian Voice" and channeled some large sums of cash to him. Galloway married into PLO terrorist leader Yasir Arafat's family and opposed the GWOT and Iraq war among other things.

Benazir Bhutto was also involved in a bribery scandal with the CEO Robert Massey of Cotecna, of Oil-For-Food fame and Niger uranium fame and also with the Swiss security company SGS which was on the UN payroll in WMD inspections.

Recall Pakistan's nuclear program was part of Paki nuke scientist a radical islamist Qasee Khan's network which was coordinating supplies and knowledge to a number of rogue nations' wmd programs.

Note also that it was Pakistan that empowered the Taliban movement in 1996 in an effort to bar the Northern Alliance general Massood [assassinated just days before 9/11/2001] and others in Afghanistan from reestablishing government there because Massood was on friendly terms with Pakistan's enemy, India.

Putting the Taliban back in charge would thwart India.

A Taliban member, by definition, is an Islamist ("Taliban" means religious student).

Freedom implies the freedom to not have to behave according to Sharia, or indeed the freedom to reject Islam.

The two are totally incompatible.
