Airlines Rejects Female Passenger Because Pro-Choice T-Shirt is "Inappropriate" [Language alert]
RH Reality Check ^ | May 22, 2012 | Jodi Jacobson

Yesterday I attended a meeting of pro-choice colleagues working to ensure women throughout this country get safe, compassionate abortion care. Today, I received an email from one of those colleagues, detailing the ordeal through which she was put by American Airlines on her flights home. They actually forced her to miss her connecting flight and demanded she change her top. The reason? Her politically salient pro-choice t-shirt was offensive to the flight crew.

That sign said: "If I wanted the government in my womb, I'd f*** a senator." ...

I find it amazing just how far the left goes these days to get attention.

I cannot even imagine what the woman looked like, who wore this shirt to the airport. Betcha even the oldest, horniest Democrat Senator wouldn't touch her.

OK, well the airlines did OK.

I find T-shirts with curse words distracting. Yes, I will defend to the death your right to wear garb with such verbiage anywhere in public.

But in a private setting, I prefer to not be assaulted thusly.

And airports are private — cartainly planes are.

(but this is yet another example of what passes for “class” in liberal circles.)

Was this her?

You know she'd do Al Franken.

If she wanted government in her womb she’d want the government to mandate that her insurer give her “free” contraception and pay for the cost of terminating all failed contraceptions - I guess she does want the government in there after all.

Stay classy, Judy, stay classy. Geesh. As much as I detest AA, I praise them for this.

She can turn her shirt inside out just like students in school are told to, when they where something vulgar.

It’s not about your sentiments, lady, it’s about your vulgarity.

#####

I won’t.

There is, or used to be, such a thing as common decency. Public venue or not.

The T shirt doesn’t even make sense.

Hillary isn’t even in the senate any more.

Perhaps that is true about Democrat Senators but I think I know of a certain former US President who would hit it in a minute no matter what she looks like.

So? Make a pest of yourself and you will be tossed off. Riding in a noisy, cramped metal tube with a few dozen to a few hundred people is downright unpleasant enough anyway without finding out you are sharing the experience with someone who has the social skills of an angry skunk.

That ticket is not a license to make everyone else on the plane even more miserable.

So this chick actually thought that shirt was appropriate for being in public? Goes to show the maturity of those folks, but then as with toddlers, everything has to always be about THEM.

>>There is, or used to be, such a thing as common decency. Public venue or not<<

The 1st Amendment is a harsh mistress. You you have to grit your teeth sometime.

I have always been ambivalent about “public decency” laws.

I am not saying you are wrong — I am just saying in general my feet fall in the “more freedom than not” camp...

Exactly. Private company, their rules. What a foolish woman. Can't run around Disneyworld in a thong either.

Even if you're a woman.

She has the right to wear that obscene shirt. AA has the right to deny her service, and the public has the right to ostracize her for wearing it.

Well of course it was appropriate, it was on a sign carried by the honorable Oklahoma state senator Judy McIntyre (D) at a pro-choice rally. /sarc
