LBJ lost the stomach for a bruising and humiliating primary battle (with its very likely outcome of an extremely humiliating defeat). Nothing like that is even remotely going on right now. This idea of Obama stepping down is a childish fantasy along the lines of belief in Santa Claus, or a belief that Obama will be impeached because of his Kenyan birth.
