One of the Irish papers is reporting on the possibility that the girls’s drinks may have been spiked. Regardless of what happened, I would not blame them. They had just spent an academic year living in one of the safest countries in the world. Living in such a bubble, they may not have realized until too late the dangers of the American urban culture, as embodied by these two gentlemen.

Not even Tokyo,,,, Ireland itself, especially the area this girl (and myself) are from would NEVER EVER hear the likes of such a thing happening in “real life”. Suppose we do take it for granted.

Either way to everyone else who posted...the point is absolutely NO blames lies with her for what happened. Screw the idea that she shouldnt have gone back with them. She did NOTHING wrong. Please don’t blame her, she’s someones best friend, someones daughter, someone sister. If this happened to your sister/daughter/best friend would YOU say “oh well what did she think would happen??”.
The only thing she was guilty of was trying to have a good night and getting to meet new people.

May she rest in peace and condolences to her family, friends and community. Something like this will almost destroy the hearts of the people who knew her.
