OTTAWA — A man who once dated notorious sex-killer Karla Homolka now stands accused of murder himself after the grisly discovery of a torso in Montreal, whose severed foot and hand were mailed to the Conservative and Liberal party offices in Ottawa.
Montreal police have confirmed that Luka Rocco Magnotta — also known by the aliases Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov — had dated Homolka. . . .
An extensive online profile depicts Magnotta as an alleged former stripper and porn star, who gained notoriety for posting videos of killing kittens online. Various glamour shots show a young man, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, with chiselled features and pursed lips.
A video purporting to show Magnotta repeatedly stabbing a man on a bed has been circulating on the Internet for several days. It is unclear whether the video was staged, or if it depicts a real killing. The Montreal Gazette has confirmed that police have obtained a video of the crime, but it is unclear whether it is the online video.

Karla Homolka (for those outside of Canada who may not be aware) is a convicted serial killer who, along with her then-husband, conspired in the rape and murder of three teenage girls including her own sister. She was convicted of manslaughter and spent 12 years in prison. (Her ex-husband, Paul Bernardo, is also a serial rapist who raped something like 20 women in Toronto in the mid-1980s. He ain't getting out.)
Basically, it means this Magnotta character dated the Canadian answer to Squeaky Fromme sometime after she got out of jail. Yeesh.
Given the light sentence for Killer Karla, this weirdo might just get off with probation. Canadians seem to have decided it’s just too mean to punish people for murder.
When I heard of the torso being found, the headline that came to mind was “Foot, Hand, Torso Found, Police Stumped”

It’s unfortunately possible that if there was no deal at the time, they both might have gotten off with relatively light sentences.
I remember seeing a TV show some time ago which featured these 2. My God, they were fiends. Both deserved to be boiled in oil...slowly.
A 20-year Canada Post employee in the fleet transportation division, which handles only packages, delivered the bloodied foot to the Conservative Party office...
I hereby warrant and attest that the first time I read this passage, I thought it refered to the feet transportation division.
I looked up these stories and looked at photos on google.
There’s something about the eyes; can’t get my finger on it.
Is it the upper eyelid, or the way the inside edge of the eyebrows are oriented downward in nearly every portrait?
At any rate, the eyes look dead and especially on her, the entire face seems slack.
Karla can sure pick them.
I'll still bet half the newsgathering organizations in the country have tried to reach her for comment. I gather she left the country some time ago, though.
I believe she is living in Guadaloupe, as a preschool teacher and is married with two or three children.
