I wonder what would happen if the church woke up and realized it could run the table on virtually every issue: if only it would wake up, repent, and vote their faith.

“Hundreds” of voters leaving the democrat party needs to be “tens of thousands”

OTOH, you’d have a hard time finding a single republican who’s joined the democrats because of their support for gay marriage.

I think the author meant to write “hundreds of thousands”.

Notice that these hundreds are party leaders, not just voters. They will bring their supporters with them.

Well, there’s plenty of room for them now in the Liberal Lite wing of the Republican Party.

My cousin is our local county sheriff. A good Christian man. But, for the world of me I cannot ever figure out why he is a Dimocrat. I guess when the thugs came to him to get him to run over 25 years ago, they were different dimocrats to a point. But, not anymore. I sent this article to him. Probably make him mad, but whatever. He will just have to get mad! I sent it any way.

I don't think they're talking voters here, but rather elected officials and party officers.

I know a rookie fire fighter who was “encouraged” to de-register as Republican.

“There comes a time when you have to stand on what you believe in,” said Greg Waggoner, sheriff of Leake County, Miss. “And I can no longer have any connection with the Democratic Party if that’s the route they’re going to take.”

Where has this sheriff's sensibilities been over the last several decades? What he believes in? The "route they're going to take?" If he has been this oblivious to the radical route that the Leftist Democratic/Socialist Party has been taking since the late 60's, the good sheriff has more serious problems than worrying about his recent Party issues.

The establishment press is clearly being remiss in failing to note them at all -- something which would not be occurring if it involved Republicans going to the party of the left.

The press is held in such contempt zings seem a natural way to start off a piece. Life is good! We're winning the battle of ideas.

I’m just waiting for the D-Rat Party to make same-sex “marriage” an official plank in their party’s platform.

If you think this current exodus is “alarming,” you haven’t seen NOTHING yet.

It, and worse, is in the Libertarian platform yet we have libertarians proudly announce themselves as such and defend libertarianism here on America’s top conservative site.

The Democrat party has been bleeding out the last few decades. Southern conservative Christians who used to vote like daddy are waking up.

I know. And they have the gall to call themselves "conservative."

Democrats that leave the party over a single issue are not a positive, because they bring all the other liberal baggage with them. The GOPe has been dominated with these turncoats since Reagan made it popular to be a Republican.
