Jun 11, 2012 Jeb Bush Says His Father and Reagan Would Lose Out in Today’s GOP

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush today said that both Ronald Reagan and his father, George H.W. Bush, would have a hard time getting nominated by the more conservative voters in today’s Republican Party.

“Ronald Reagan would have, based on his record of finding accommodation, finding some degree of common ground, as would my dad, they would have a hard time if you define the Republican party, and I don’t, as having an orthodoxy that doesn’t allow for disagreement, doesn’t allow for finding some common ground,” Bush said, according to Buzzfeed, which reported Bush’s giving the comments at the headquarters of Bloomberg LP in New York City.

Bush, a much-discussed contender to be Mitt Romney’s running mate, said he sees the ultra-conservative and partisan standards of today’s GOP as “disturbing,” but called “this dysfunction … temporary.” “It’s just a different environment left and right,” Bush said.

During his “dad’s time and Ronald Reagan’s time,” Bush said, they “got a lot of stuff done with a lot of bipartisan support,” according to the report, adding that Reagan “would be criticized for doing the things that he did.”

Bush railed against both sides, but blamed President Obama for much of the clashing.

“His first year could have been a year of enormous accomplishment had he focused on things where there was more common ground,” Bush said, arguing that he believed Obama made the “purely political calculation” to run a more partisan administration.

This is the latest in a series of comments Bush has made recently either criticizing his party or expressing policy points openly breaking with the presumptive GOP nominee. Bush separated himself from Romney on the issue of illegal immigrants already in the United States.

Good. A Bush sycophant can’t stand to have his hero’s family criticized for criticizing conservatives.

Too bad.

Hello friend.

Don’t go, stay, do not allow yourself be interjected into something, that sometimes is just waste of time.
From your writings, I can feel you are very smart person with intellectual understandings of things that are unfolding in front of you, real audience is listening.

Nothing is easy in this life, for life is not easy. There will be always disagreements, either we like it or not, for it makes us humans, see dear friend…

I was raised on farm, hardworking grandmother and grandfather, very strict and very smart, sometimes I thought being young I knew more, then I learned as I grew up, what a fool I was. They thought me this which I do follow.. If we can’t get along on this planet as we know each other, and will not get along with others we don’t know, how will we get along in afterlife?

I have written many times, enemies are awaiting and watching what their opositions is writing and calculated theirs moves. This is time to unite, emotions are for later, debates and discussion as well, country first and I know you love your country and will make sure you will do right fight for it.

Disagreements, we all do have, unity is what is need it now, Presidents come and go, let true conservatives of your country take full control of Three Chambers of your Government, and start fixing your house friends, then in unity you will be able to fight even harder and stronger.

Disarming this enemy is not easy task, I don’t know fully who is Mister Jeb Bush, or policies of Previous President, I know watching horrific attacks on United States and as President he took a charge, rest of internal policies, I will yield the floor, you know better then I do. That is your house.

Ronald Reagan has passed away, again can’t say too much of his internal policies, one thing I can say, he knew how to drive Moscow crazy and made it very clear.

This is not 1980 or 1989 this is 2012, we are living in times when majority of people have lost concepts of reality and utopia, and divisions do arise because of that. Not only, in reality in history, and I am historian, is that there were always and will always be two groups: One for right other for evil…and evil has many different names. Right is always Right, as Love is Love and hate is hate.

Don’t be discourage, stay friend. Not everything is lost; much to gain is still at hard work.

Merci.

What Jeb Bush has had to say is not so important, as it is to figuring out why he is saying it.

He has come out of his cave when we are less that 150 days before the election..... why?

What piece of the pie is he after and at whose table will he eat that pie?

If a tea party supporter is also a Bush family supporter, then maybe they ought to learn what the tea party is about.

We sure don’t need control freak nuts like you around.

Your head-in-sand method of analysis is the proximate cause of everything that is wrong with this once great country.
