You are being given two cups and told you must drink from one for fear of the other. The year is 2012 and the cups are filled with kool-aid instead of tea. But what we must do now remains the same as it was then ... empty the cup into the harbor. I want both the liberal candidates to suffer a humiliating defeat. But, unless a miracle happens and the likes of Virgil Goode becomes president, one of the others will rise to the executive office. Does it matter which one? Heck yes. For three years now we have been building a coalition against Obama. Our team is sensitized to the type of battle Obama and his team wages. We are ready, willing, trained, and able to bring the fight. And we are making ground. We are poised to take the majority in both Houses and Obama wouldn't even set foot in my state to campaign against Scott Walker. Why the heck would I willingly toss aside the incredible progress we've made, only to damage the Republican brand for the next three congressional elections and the next two presidential elections just to call a liberal statist like Romney "President"? He isn't worth it. We are better off keeping all eyes on Obama.

It's a painful decision, and not easily made. We conservatives have one of the most important challenges of our lives. How can we best protect and preserve our beloved republic?

You are being given two cups and told you must drink from one for fear of the other. Will there be only these two presidential candidates on the ballot?
If not, then the entire premise of your post is false.
