As NewsBusters reported Saturday, former ABC White House correspondent Sam Donaldson told the Huffington Post, "Many on the political right believe this president [Barack Obama] ought not to be there – they oppose him not for his polices [sic] and political view but for who he is, an African American! These people and perhaps even certain news organizations (certainly the right wing talkers like Limbaugh) encourage disrespect for this president."
Limbaugh responded to this nonsense by email moments ago:
"Sam's premise, sadly, is ignorant, simplistic, clichéd, predictable and wrong. The President's ideas are what I oppose, not his skin color, which I couldn't care less about. He's the President of the United States and his race does not inoculate or immunize him from substantive critique."

The official “program observer” and call screener. His real name is James Golden, and he is an African-American. From comments Limbaugh has made on the air, it would seem he assists with research as part of preparation for the show and is in the control booth as the show is being broadcast. He co-hosted a Sunday night talk show, James and Joel, on WABC with Joel Santisteban from 1992 to 1998.
Snerdley is a pseudonym Limbaugh invented for his call screeners in general, and several have been called so over the years, both male and female. During a show in 2004, Limbaugh was not at the microphone for the last segment of the second hour (it was only about ten seconds), and Snerdly came on instead: “This is Bo Snerdly, Rush will be right back on the EIB Network.” It was one of the very rare times his voice has been heard on the program before 2008. “Bo” Snerdly screens callers at the Palm Beach Florida broadcasting location and in New York City. In February 2008, Snerdly was appointed by Limbaugh as the show’s Official Criticizer of Barack Obama: “certified black enough to criticize”

Sam Donaldson got government subsidies for his New Mexico ranch, while covering government agencies for ABC News.

There is no affirmative action in the Presidential election. You can vote based on any reason for the candidate of your choice. Any reason. No minority set-asides, no points for minority ancestry, no diversity guidelines, no under represented group based on population, no list of forbidden personal vote deciders . The candidate that wins the majority of the Electoral votes wins the Presidency.
You can vote for or against a candidate based on anything you want including skin color. That vote is not disqualified. That’s how it is. Deal with it.
While there are many better reasons to vote Obama out of office such as the economy, energy policy, runaway environmental regulation, clueless handling of the Arab spring,etc. a vote against him based on his skin color is not illegal. Probably a little ignorant but not illegal.
