BRUNSWICK, Ohio (AP) — Mitt Romney is refusing to say that he would overturn President Barack Obama's new policy allowing some young illegal immigrants to stay in the United States.
The Republican presidential candidate tells CBS” ”Face the Nation” that if he’s president, Obama’s executive order “would be overtaken by events … by virtue of my putting in place a long-term solution.”
Romney was asked three times in the interview if he would overturn Obama’s order, but he didn’t directly answer the question. Instead, he said would work to pass a law to help those young people who were “brought in by their parents through no fault of their own.” Romney said he doesn’t know why Obama “feels stop-gap measures are the right way to go.”
The candidate’s comments represent a further softening of his rhetoric on immigration since the GOP primary campaign ended.

One way to do that is to NOT chase the red herring issues thrown out to distract the public from the real issues of the economy, Obamacare, etc.....Like a MLB player we need to keep an eye on the ball until it is in the glove. Only then can we throw the ball where it needs to go. Patience, lets get the usurper out of the WH and back into his grass hut.

The economy was the top issue for weeks and Obama looked terrible. Suddenly the topic switches to one which makes Obama look like a hero to large populations in SW states. These states had a chance of going to Romney. And now conservatives are arguing? And now people are not singly talking about the economy?
Hmmm. Sounds like Chicago strategy to me.
Romney doesn’t say A LOT of things he should be saying...kinda why I am not feeling to positive about the future.

Romney, I repeat, Romney, IS NOT A COMMUNIST, SOCIALIST, MARXIST! No one is perfect, and Romney has his flaws as well, but he is NO LEFTIST. Every change, elimination that must be made after his election will come one step at a time...obozo took four years to step on the Constitution, and “fundamentally change” this country....one step at a time. It will be OUR responsibility to then be vigilant and stay on top of Romney and make sure he does the will of We The People.
It will not be easy or a instant fix....but first, we must stand together and elect Romney to the White House, and drag out obozo and his gaggle of hacks, his big-mouth marxist, revolutionary “wife,” and the rest of the leftists, wherever they may be hiding. Marco Rubio had a plan for the handing of the illegal immigrants, but obozo beat him to it by stepping on the Constitution, and pushing it through, because he can! ‘cause he's king!
A FACT: these people are here, and we need their vote. Get Romney and Rubio in office...and let them formulate a plan for the handling of illegal immigrants in a orderly fashion.

Obama’s looking better and better - as long as he’s restrained by GOP majorities in both houses. If Romney becomes prez, he’ll use Democratic minorities and GOP centrists to get his liberal legislation passed. Whereas Obama provides no political cover for GOP turncoats in Congress.
Six years of bush and GOP Congress got us huge deficits and disastrous housing bubble. (Yes I know the Dems under Clinton started the bubble, but Bush and GOP kept it going by encouraging easy lending for people who couldn’t afford houses).
In contrast, when Clinton was president with a GOP Congress, we actually had some restraint in spending. The Republicans were incentivized to challenge the executive instead of to go along.
OTOH, a reelected Obama will give us terrible judges.

The focus should be winning the election not chasing every distracting (from Obama’s record) issue thrown out by Obama to befuddle Joe-sixpack, or to pander to single issue voter groups.
Aside: There is no way Romney will be anything other than himself.....a Rockefellar, East coast establishment, Republican (sic). Get out there in your local elections and make sure the winners of the downticket elections are all rock ribbed Conservatives......Presidents are not a “shoot and forget” smart weapon.....like any modern weapon they need constant quidance and correction. A CONSERVATIVE Congress will do that. Our goal as voters is to make sure that happens....do it!
As I said in a previous thread, Lets make sure “President” Romney rues the day he ran for President because of a Conservative Congress that’ll hold his feet closely to the fire for his entire term of office......let Romney limp out of office footsore from tangling with real Conservatives!

We'll get off this topic shortly and return to turf where Romeny far outshines Obama. Don't fall into traps which the left will try to use to divide. Their main strategy is always to continue to balkanize the US and divide conservatives. They'll try it again and again.
