GOP Senator: White House Claims About Document Hand-Over Are 'Hogwash'
The Hil ^ | June 21, 2012 | Jordy Yager

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said comments made by the White House claiming the administration has given Congress every document related to Fast and Furious are “hogwash.”

Grassley’s remarks come as two more senators on Thursday joined the ranks calling for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over his handling of the botched gun-tracking operation and refusal to give Congress related documents, which spurred a House panel to vote this week to hold the nation’s top cop in contempt of Congress.

White House spokesman Jay Carney on Thursday vehemently defended President Obama’s decision to assert executive privilege over the documents and said the administration has given Congress everything related to Fast and Furious.

“Every document related to the Fast and Furious operation has long since been provided to congressional investigators,” said Carney to reporters.

“Every piece of documentation that relates to the operation itself, if the interest here is in the operation, how it came about, its origination, how it was approved, why such a flawed tactic was employed, that has been provided to congressional investigators.”

But Grassley, the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee and the lawmaker who launched Congress’s probe of Fast and Furious, said that simply wasn’t true.

“His statement that the administration has ‘provided Congress every document that pertains to the operation itself’ is hogwash,” said Grassley.

“Through my investigation, I know there are reams of documents related to ‘the operation itself’ that the Justice Department has refused to turn over to Congress."

The furor between the White House and Capitol Hill Republicans continued to rise in the upper chamber on Thursday as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a leading frontrunner for the GOP vice presidential ticket, and Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) both called for Holder’s resignation.

One of the President's closest confidants revealed that within the stash of the thousands of Fast and Furious documents is Obama's actual, real, authentic birth certificate, it's even got his footprint, kept there for safe keeping.

According to Pelosi, Grassley is just saying this to try to keep people who aren’t like him from voting.

Well, aside the Obama BC thing, local host (Jay Severin, I think) said that Issa et al already have the documents they seek from white house... the ones they have are copies that someone sent to him. They already know what’s in them, but need to get them legally to be able to charge anyone. When they began demanding specific docs with specific page numbers, ODrama decided to invoke the Privilege.

Not to mention, several of a O’s college term papers...ones not written by Bill Ayers.

All seriousness aside...this is unraveling fast for Holder/Obama.

Good.

My question: If the full House votes for contempt, does it still have to go thru the Senate for a vote?

This is getting a little tiresome. F&F was NOT a gun-tracking program and it was NOT botched - it was uncovered. Until then it was going perfectly to plan - the guns were moving to Mexico and Obama's anti-2nd Amendment campaign was cranking up.

You would think by now that an organization like "The Hill" would have figured that out. It's been common knowledge on FR for over a year. Can't these guys read?

Even Bret Baier promoted the meme that F and F was only a continuation of Wide Receiver. This WH MUST come clean. I hope they are all held to answer for their crimes. If this was a Republican Admin, the AG would already be gone and the House would be preparing an impeachment vote on the President.

There is something funny going on with Issa’s document request. Correct me if I’m wrong but this is how it looks:

Issa is now only looking to receive documents that are post Feb 2011 and therefore only relate to a possible F&F coverup and not the operational details (who authorized, how high did it go etc.)

Jay Carney is claiming that Issa has all the documents that he asked for related to the operational aspects of F&F, the ones that would answer the questions about who, what, when and where of the operation itself.

I cannot believe that Carney is telling the truth.

But, I don’t get the Issa rational for removing the request for the pre Feb 2011 documents. I don’t buy the argument that he has a batch of documents supplied by a whistleblower. He does have some possibly if not probably incriminating wire tap documents but I think that’s it. There must be much more that he doesn’t have.

So what’s going on here?

They simply can’t quit using that word “botched”, even if it is a lie.

So if all docs have been released, why don’t we know who’s responsible?

Why do we still not know who is going to be held accountable for decisions that led to Brian Terry’s death?

It is folly to talk about what’s been released or not - the reason the docs are needed is to be able to identify the individual(s) responsible.

According to both Levin and Megan Kelly, the next step after the House passes a contempt charge would be for the House to go to a criminal court judge requesting that Holder be charged. Kelly’s take was that the criminal court would deny such a request and that there is precedence for that even during Bush.

After that step, the House should go to a civil court judge asking the court to review the documents one by one to see if they meet the threshold for the Exec. Priv. claim. This would no doubt be tedious and take time. Obama/Holder know this would stretch out beyond the election. That’s why they are playing this game.

The above explanation may not be entirely accurate, but I believe it’s pretty close. Someone may be able to explain it better or more thoroughly than I.

But nonetheless, the House needs to do what is right, election or no. The people have a right to know what went on. After all, our tax dollars funded this operation and we deserve a thorough accounting of our money.

Three letters that people just don’t understand as it relates to this operation.

Remeber Issa said that he commended the committee for not leaking information. They have seen more than they can let on in regards to F&F.

You have to follow the trail. I have posted about this ad nauseum.

Start with this question:

How does the Sinaloa Drug Cartel (armed by F&F) end up with a CIA Rendition plane several weeks before it has to crash land with 4 tons of cocaine. And what happened to the company that owned the plane???????? Donna Blue Aircraft?

Sloppy Tradecraft will lead you to the answer

Seriously? You know as well as the rest of us that not a darn thing is going to happen to any of these elitists pigs who are so smart that they can glean which of the documents are relevant and which ones aren’t. To suppose that anything will happen to any of these clowns makes you.................. a racist. Oh the horror! Ayers is probably one of them secret consultants but we know they were only casual acquaintances right? The mailman obviously is a liar with an agenda and must also be a................racist. Most people are more worried about justin beeper maybe doing 6 months for assault. That too will never happen.

Helping keep mankind warm for 65 years.

It might be there all right, completely redacted and covered over with black ink, like many of the documents already delivered.
