It sort of puts a big dent in the axe you are trying to grind.

Oh?

How?

You admit that OTHERs can read the greek and put it into english.

Does YOUR reading of the greek give a DIFEERENT english result?

Elsie - I am editing slightly so you don’t misunderstand:

BB,

So, you admit that you can’t possibly understand the original Greek. A good start.

Lets walk this back.

That means that [ *** 100% of your own Bible is the interpretation given to you by translators *** ] others have interpreted what this portion of God’s word (which was written in Greek) means [ *** because you don’t understand the original langauges and don’t have the original documents so you have to rely on 100% on interpretations made when translating and transcribing ***].

Very interesting.

Amazing.

It sort of puts a big dent in the axe you are trying to grind [ *** because we all have to rely on others to pass Scripture on to us, so God entrusted the authenticity of that interpretation to a Church that has authority to make definitive doctrinal calls when there is discord regarding doctrine and interpretation - what gift we Catholics have - unlike Protestants who all claim YOPIOS and end up with the doctrine of homo-marriage and abortion and divorce and remarriage, etc. (when a Catholic priest goes off the reservation doctrinally at least he is known to be doctrinally in error) ***]
