CNBC ^ | June 25 2012 | Matthew Clinch

The increase in demand for oil from emerging countries is not enough to counteract the fall in demand from established economies, Alejandro Barbajosa, oil markets specialist at Argus Media told CNBC.

Oil prices are decisively lower than three months ago and Brent Crude [LCOCV1 90.39 -0.59 (-0.65%) ] fell to below $90 per barrel last Thursday, its lowest level in eighteen months.

Are you being purposefully obtuse?

You post as if you have a hidden agenda regarding the wonderful current state of the economy and the benefits of our dependence upon food imports.

If manipulation of the CPI, suppresses the cost of food today from being 30% of my disposable income to 25% of my disposable income, and 30 years ago before manipulation of the CPI began in earnest, the cost of food was 70% of my income, the trend holds, but the figures are not ‘entirely accurate’.

Don't know what product you are moving or what your vendors are moving, but around here, the department stores have drastically dropped their inventory. The Sears, Pennys, etc. stores all look like they just had a 90% off sale cause they are empty. Lady said that they were not bringing in as much stuff just to look full.

For example; if someone asked you what percentage of your income do you spend on fueling your vehicle, assuming you had the numbers at hand, would you be able to come up with that fraction? Would you know what that fraction means to your standard of living?

You know what they say about the word assume?

I can't speak for everyone, however myself and associates, both personal and professional, keep budgets. Both the nominal amount and percentage of our income spent on necessities such as fuel for our cars, heat, a/c, good food, housing, and medical care has risen over the ~ past 30 years. Compared to ~ 30 yr ago, we all consciously drive less, use less heat and a/c than needed to be comfortable, feed fewer souls, have less money left over (if any) after purchasing necessities for saving. This is a decline in our standard of living.

For perspective my circle consists of high end blue collar, college educated professionals, techies, and small business owners.

I first like to believe what posters post.

In this case, your lack of understanding of something as basic as fractions is cause to pause.

What facts have I mocked?

IIRC, you have been the only one on this thread mocking facts.
