Homeland Security suspends immigration agreements with Ariz. police
The Washington Times ^ | June 25,2012 | By Stephen Dinan

The Obama administration said Monday it is suspending existing agreements with Arizona police over enforcement of federal immigration laws, and said it has issued a directive telling federal authorities to decline many of the calls reporting illegal immigrants that the Homeland Security Department may get from Arizona police.

Administration officials, speaking on condition they not be named, told reporters they expect to see an increase in the number of calls they get from Arizona police — but that won’t change President Obama’s decision to limit whom the government actually tries to detain and deport.

“We will not be issuing detainers on individuals unless they clearly meet our defined priorities,” one official said in a telephone briefing.

The official said that despite the increased number of calls, which presumably means more illegal immigrants being reported, the Homeland Security Department is unlikely to detain a significantly higher number of people and won’t be boosting personnel to handle the new calls.

we have no rule of law. None of the laws make ANY DIFFERENCE.

This is what is left after decades of selective enforcement. (mho) It is soon be become worse.

So sleep well members of the Court - if you can. You have screwed up Big Time once again and we now have yet another example of the lack of the rule of law in this country. The law has turned out to be whatever Obama says it is. The power of the Supreme Court (and Congress for that matter) is null and void.

Yup. And the media is urging him to ignore the SC if they make rulings against him. It no longer matters if the SC rules against obamacare, because obama will ignore the ruling. Deep down inside, we all know that. The courts announcement (if it’s anti-obama) at the end of the week is going to be absolutely meaningless. We are truly living in a dictatorship.

The local police should hold the person until ICE signs for them. Let the release responsibility be on the FedGov / Obama Administration’s head.

AZ should be able to sue the Federal government over selective compliance.

The Constitution died today. We are now the United STATE of America. Obama is officially a dictator and Americans are now the subjects of King Obama.

The Supreme Court just affirmed that fact and Chief Justice Roberts joined in the official dismantling of State Sovereignty.

No more United STATES (Plural). We are now one nation under Obama.

Arizona can sue until the cows come home. The Supreme Court has already spoken.

Who are they going to sue? And which court will hear it?

Give it up boys. We are now a dictatorship and the Supreme Court is now the rubber stamp for our Dictator.

Heil Obama!

The United STATE of America

True.

How in the world could a constructionist side with the notion that the executive, required by constitution to enforce the laws of the land, can whimsically pick his way through what he wishes to enforce and what he doesn't.

How could they say that a state enforcing law is violating the executive's whim to do nothing with the law?

This is a terrible ruling, and if it isn't the end of this nation as we know it, we'll have that end on Thursday, for if Roberts "ruled with business interests", then business interests include government health care, if it means getting health care costs off their own backs.

I am not at all optimistic about the Health Care ruling. Roberts joining in on this one striking down any semblance of States Rights tells me that he will be more than willing to declare the Health of Americans to be a compelling Federal Interest and that the States have no right to complain.

Today marked the final death blow to State Sovereignty. States are now entirely subservient to the Federal Government and effectively any law that the States pass will be unconstitutional as long as the President is against it.

America. It was a good idea. It's over. Turn out the lights.

He will be listed historically as America's worst president by any measurement or standard you want to use.

Actually he will be listed as America's first dictator.

Jimmy Carter will retain his place as America's worst President.

GW will be listed as our last President.

Saw Sheriff Larry Dever (Cochise County, AZ) on Hannity tonight. He said that if ICE won’t respond to them, they’ll pack up the illegals, drop them on their doorstep and say, “YOU deal with them”. Guess he’ll do that as often as needed.

The other thing that scares me is the fact that not all that come illegaly are mexicans. Prayer rugs and korans have been found.

b0nehead HAS to go. It’s darn scary here. More and more illegals are going to feel *empowered and much bolder* by this. Most Arizonans don’t have security personnel like the pampered princes in D.C.

Arrest illegals, put them in Orange jump suits and transport them to DC... Drop them off in front of 1600...

If DC is not going to deport them, then they can take care of them...

You are so right! Just wait until news of our Dear Leader’s edict reaches Mexico. Arizona will look like Mexican Black Friday at Wal Mart with border agents and law enforcement left twisting in the wind.

Impeachment....are we there yet? Or shall we wait until a terrorist or drug lord kills a few hundred of us?

Arizona, and every other state that can show that they are harmed by the refusal of the Obama administration to enforce existing immigration law, should file a “writ of mandamus” in federal court to force the administration to enforce all of the existing immigration laws passed by Congress.

Obama has written off Arizona. Even the legal Mexicans won’t be too happy to know anyone can come to the USA and stay and work as long as they want...

I don’t mean to say that we don’t want Romney. It is just that true conservatives will never vote for this empty suit. We want a conservative like Reagan!!
