Don't think of this as a line in the sand or a "jump the shark moment". Think of this as just one more rivet in the liberal project known as "America". It goes back decades, perhaps centuries. There are few true conservatives left. Lots of neocons, like Bush and Cheney who's been publicly rejoicing over the "marriage" of his lesbian daughter but few who truly understand the meaning of the word as it applies to government, the military and the people.
This is not the end of America. It's just the beginning of the end.
Look forward to punitive measures against the Catholic Church for its mean refusal to pay for everyone's fornication and then an onward push into the redefinition of marriage and draconian penalties for those who refuse to be accommodating towards sexual deviance.

Yes — of course you are right. America is a liberal project. It has always been a liberal project. Liberalism is in our DNA. What has happened today is merely another logical stage in an easily predicted trajectory.
